| Lack of promotions ------------ the number crunchers at the club have worked out that the cost of the promotion will exceed the potential extra profits raised (remember...profits not income)

| I don't question the promotion policy. Don't we have the best promotion guru in the UK in charge at our own I club.
Simon would have forgotten more about promotion than any of us put together are likely to ever know.

| Lack of interest in the weekly rounds due to the current set up of the competition. People I know are not short of income, and they say they just can't be bothered now, especially as the club has had virtually no Sunday afternoon home matches this year.
I know quite a lot of people who travel with work, and they can't get to most Friday night matches.
Also the away support drops off due to Friday matches.

Is this actually true, or have you just made that up?

he hasn't made that up. Even if it was a calculated guess, he's on the ball.
I for one do no longer buy a season ticket as its a waste if money. I cannot afford to take Fri and sat eves off work to watch wire. You can count on one hand how many Sunday afternoon home games wire have played this season.

I don't buy into all that, I think there is just no attempts to market the club which is quite sad at a time of such success. If the weekly rounds thing is such an issue, why do Leeds pull in such great crowds? Part of the answer to that is they make every game feel like a huge event.
If Friday nights are so detrimental, why is it the night of choice for Wigan, Saints and Leeds who have topped the attendance charts for years? Hull decided to move from Friday to Sunday, only to find it had a negative effect.
People turn up in their thousands to watch things like darts and cricket despite actually having little interest. Both games are like watching paint dry, but they have successfully made it a day out. Rugby league in Warrington remains to the vast amount of people something you go to because you already have. Huddersfield in the cup we should have been turning people away, yet we had an embarrassing crowd that day.

| "friday nights are so detrimental, why is it the night of choice for Wigan, Saints and Leeds who have topped the attendance Friday"
I dont agree...
Saints attendances per game are less than Warrington, but for 2 league and any possible play off games that include Wigan and Warrington, and having a stadium big enough not to turn them away. unlike Warrington who's stadium has had too small a capacity.
These 2 games are enough to send saints attendance averages around 11000.
As for Wigan, they have been a power house of rugby league for yoars and built up there fan base over those years. Warrington have 20 seasons of catching up to do on them.
Leeds City is 3 times the size of Warrington, so they will always have a bigger pond to fish in that any super league club, with the exception of the possibilities of London who fail to impress season to season and are considered still to be a fledgling club, but to be fair, there junior set up is 2nd to non.
3 seasons back, Warrington were the team everyone wanted to watch as we were an attacking machine, several games were all ticket and sold out.
You do the business on the pitch and the promotion will take care of itself.

| I don't get it, I can make limited amounts of games but I'd love to be in a position in which I could watch them all, I'll be honest I don't get as exicted at the build up like I did at Wilderspool but I still love it.

| We need the capacity increasing. No margin, no growth.
Nothing wrong with the product.
Sky schedules can have some small effect, offset by their compensation for viewing rights.

Not viable given our current average attendances, would just be spending money for the sake of it

Surely more disposable income per capita woul make it easier to attract fans?

| IIRC leeds wigan and saints all made the switch to friday night games, as sky were changing their fixtures on a regular basis, i'm pretty sure it was said that saints did it aswell as it was better for their corporate hospitality and that , as it was causing them a problem changing dates for that, plus it was deemed that people like to wine and dine people after work on a friday, rather than on a sunday.
I think good old andy has said in the past, we dont' seem to have a problem with that aspect of it, the corporates seem to do quite well on a sunday here.

Yes i agree, but if people are working when games are on then that won't happen & given that many working people are affected by working umpteen part time shifts to make up a working week ,being available to watch a game is not always possible. It doesn't help when games are now being spread over a possible one day from 5 of being played (Thursday/Monday) at short notice & usually to suit sky ,which stops working people from being able to change shifts at short notice.
All in all sky are not interested in the least what the gates are at particular games & no doubt live in hope that fans will give up altogether on live games & invest in sky sports packages. Once the game has died out altogether sky will just find another sport to exploit.
