Nice to see Blythe is contracted for a few seasons. Fantastic back up centre and may make the move to second row over time.
Also Grix is a valuable member of the squad. Covers a few positions well and has a good rugby brain.

Finding it hard to pick the most important because in their own position each is vital to our club.
Perhaps Matty gives us an indication of where players themselves perceive us and where we are at as a club.
I say this because Matty will probably not make the 1st choice 17 and he could go to a Widnes type club get more money and regular starting place but it seems that he would rather take his chances with a club with a great future.

i have voted Grix extremely underestimated player and an absolute workhorse that throws anything and everything into the clubs success am quite shocked that blythe had no votes as i think he has done really well this season

I've gone for Myler but they all deserve their new contracts imo. Despite Richie not being included in the 4 nations squad he's had a fantastic season. If he can add a little better distribution to his game I can see him being our 7 for next ten years.
No new contracts for Mitchell and McCarthy. Wouldn't be suprised if they both pull on a Demics shirt next year.

Atkins for me.
To be honest, it was a tough decision, as each player brings something different to the party.
Atkins 2010 was good. Atkins 2011 was outstanding. Atkins 2012 onwards can only improve. Also, with King going, Atkins' centre play will be even more important.
Made up with Grix also. Tremendous workhorse.
Myler getting better with age, Blythe's utility improving, and Williams' electric wing pace. Tough to decide who's more important!

Yeah you would of thought they been in the list of players signing today if they were staying.
I think all are good if I had to pick it would be Grix as he didn't have much left also Williams getting an extra year is a good idea Smith defo see's something in him and I agree.
Still think we have one more new signing coming in. |
