| If Steve Menzies was an unknown french kid at the start of the season who played for Catalan in the second row there is no way on earth he would have made the dream team. There on reputation and standing within the game rather than 2011 performances.

| Is the inclusion of Menzies an honour to a truly fine player, or a sad reflection on the other back rows playing in SL? I would say it's the former.

It's a slight embarassment that Menzies is in the Dream Team though isn't it? He must be 39 now?'"
Not really.
Age is just a number isn't it, on the occasions I've seen Catalans this year he's been fantastic, the game against Bradford on SKY stands out when Ferriol got his marching orders.
They've taken plenty of big scalps this year and have played without Bosc all year, his leadership will have been invaluable.

Compare Menzies to Westwood.
You won't get too many on here saying that Westwood isn't a deserved inclusion, well for me, Menzies stats are equally as impressive, irrespective of his age.

Sad One you are way off the mark, Monas has been the best Hooker in the comp this year without doubt.

I'd maybe agree he's been the best hooker, but its not without doubt. Roby has been awesome all year, they are just different styles of player.

Leave the club bias out of it and take a look at Roby. It's impossible to leave him out. He is a phenom.
Averaging, thats right averaging, nigh on 200m and 40 tackles a game.

Roby and Monaghan are both great players but Monaghan has a problem and its a major one.
Sorry he is not Roby. Roby seems to be the darling of some of the media i would have had Monaghan in as the better of the 2. But Roby got MOS 2-3 years ago when clearly Trent Barrett was the better player.
I do believe he might be the love Child of Stevo
For legal purposes thats a joke.
If he is not in the dream team i dont think he will get MOS but i might be wrong. Personally i think Sam Tomkins has produced some incredible stuff this season and so has Monaghan. I just hope one of them gets it and not Roby.

39110_1363272058.jpg Dropkick Murphy..we actually saw and heard a mass of bouncing and scarf and flag waving to Dale Cavese that drowned out anything we could muster.. It stopped us singing our own celebratory songs, it died out seconds later when we accepted we couldn't be heard over the Wigan lot
Celebrations muted from us, job done from them. Most fans who slag them off are jealous their own club's support is nowhere near that good
-
sally cinnamon..Why not discuss Wigan? It's a rugby league message board. Wigan are the most famous brand in rugby league
-
Tre Cool..Saints fans are hopeless unless it's a cup final or grand final. Wigan fans are so much more loyal and passionate
-
the flying biscuit..Wires havent been massively succesful over the years, but I've spoke to Brian Bevan And he spoke to me and i wouldnt swap that for Wigans History, ever
-
Ande..on the TV i could only hear the Wigan fans with about 10 to go
-
Saint94..Every team is in your feckin shadow, we all know

| SL coaches have to produce strategies/gameplans to stop the likes of Monaghan, Roby, Tomkins, Chase, Briers, Lomax etc each week. I suspect that if it was they rather than a bunch of journos who came up with the dream team we would see some different faces.
If the players get to vote on their peers for Man Of Steel, then I think the SL coaches should vote the Dream Team.

To the detriment of Saints at times I imagine... Saints get a roll on, have the opposition disorganised, and instead of swinging the ball out and scoring, Roby darts 10 metres up the pitch and is tackles.
Whereas Monaghan 9 times out of ten will choose the right option, and is a big reason for us amassing so many points this season.
This is the reason the aussies beat us so comfortably, they have player with brains and skills, we just have brawn.

Yes on 2nd thoughts he has not been the clear best hooker in the Comp and Roby has been great for Saints.
But Monas should have been in the SL Dream team ahead of Roby.

Agreed, he's an unreal workhorse, you can't help but see that with the naked eye without the need for statistics. I do think he is a physical freak, a one off.
Only problem is, you could counter-argue that by saying that he's ineffective, or his style doesn't lend itself to making you guys successful, as you've not beaten any of the big sides this year and have found yourselves well off the pace this year, for all of his good work.
