| Niether of the two football grounds are close to the city centre. Niether of the two will be that impressed that rugby types will be on the pitch. If the aim is too attract local support then Everton is the better ground as the majority of home football supporters are local, whereas the majority home football support for Livepool is not. Wonder whats happening with Saints home games with Wigan and Leeds?

Wow!
The Sun have a 50 word space to fill in the sport section, so as usual they fill it with bulle and innacuracy. Plenty of detail, isn't there? I bet Dave Darker wrote it, so its automatically is defined as total bolox.

Clearly he has never done this in the past and thus has never deserved to be in a final, i suspect that the same scenario will occur tomorrow.:30555.jpg |

After all, it is a bigger and better stadium............
If that was the case they would have played it at OT!

| looking at Wigans pitch on Friday (which was immaculate) it would appear football makes a mess of the pitches in winter..not RL in Summer

Quite right - it's a misconception put about by tossball that playing rugby on firm to hard pitches where there is minimal to no pushing in the scrum so no pushing against the turf, no digging pyramids of mud for kicks and no covering the pitch with sand to soak up the surface water, damages the pitches to a level where the overpaid primadonnas break their toenail when they trip over a blade of grass.
On another point - I bet James Graham will be well impressed playing at Goodison Park, if he still is at Saints next season that is...

I presume they're only playing the one game away from home against us, as widnes is as close if not closer to us, therefore hindering the 'home' advantage. So they might as well play it in scouse-land try n drum up some extra support for when they get the new ground

| Sounds right we take the most to Saints so it's only fitting. Would of prefered it at Anfield rather than the at Neverton mind.

| Anfield or Goodison Park - it will still be played at an Everton Ground. Glad it's looking like heading to the 'Grand Old Lady' instead of the stadium donated to the Kopites.
Transport wise, on Toffee's matchday's they have Soccerbuses from the City Centre, but can't see these being operated for Rugby.
For those who may be going to Goodison for the 1st time, most people's reaction is one of shock at its size compared to expectation. And I can't see the match even remotely filling it to be honest. It might be prudent to close the Bullens Road end and have the 3 stands in view of the TV Camera's full.
I hope it does indeed go ahead at Goodison, the thought of sitting in the Gwladys Street end cheering on the Wire will bring tears to the eyes of many Warringtonian/Evertonians.
(Maybe even a cheeky Z Cars Entrance?)

Out of interest how far is Goodison from the City Centre?'"
There is only a 4,000 difference in capacity!

Would love that Just sadly can't see it ever happening. I definately can't imagine them treating us to Z-cars either sadly.

Haha I think Z-Cars would be a nice touch. St Helens have long had strong links with Everton so I think it could actually happen. If I remember correctly - Moyes/Anderson held joint training sessions once or twice.
This moving of matches to football stadia has already been applied in RU with a good degree of success. But I just can't see the match attracting more than 20,000, which would look pretty poor on TV.

| Maybe if this goes ahead Saints and Wire could take a note of what union does when they moves games to Wembley or HQ

When we played them at Anfield, there was an attempt from some elements of the crowd to sing You'll Never Walk Alone which was drowned out with boos.
