| funny the amount of stick we give wigan speccies for not having got behind richie mathers in his time there...
...and yet we somehow fail to get behind a homegrown lad who burst on to the scene with a flurry of tries, won a player of the month award and has now been away and won the respect of our most hated rival's fans

Even though his scoring record with us was 23 in 36 games but yeah your right.

As you have been about Briers, Bridge and countless others.
Matt King is not a centre for as long as there's a whole in your ar-se is he ?

I am not wrong about Bridge or Briers ,Briers is inconsistent in his performances and is at the wrong end of his career ,Bridge is only a stop gap at centre and will probably be replaced and go back to being a back up player next season !
yes they have both improved under Smith but so have the rest of the team, and yes I still believe King is a better winger than centre thats my oppinion and I will stick to a time when I think differently .
Briers has been a good servant to the club I wish he was 10 years younger and had Tony Smith coaching him for longer he would imo if TS had coached him for longer been one of the best half-backs in the world not just super league which imo has poor half backs compared to AUS whom have better half backs in every team than we have in any team in SL ,we have a shortage of quality half backs in our league as a whole and end up bringing in Aussies who cant make the grade in aus or are at the end of their careers

Is Bridge made of biscuit, yes or no ? Your words. Is he a NL1 standard player, again, what you said.
Matt King isn't a centre as long as you have a whole in your ar-se, your words. He's one of the form centre in SL, who's just scored a hat-trick to take us to a challenge cup final, how on earth are you right ?
Briers has been excellent this year, under Smith anyhow. Very few of his performances have been below par, very few.

| Personally i dont think King is quick enough to be classed as a winger. His best position is centre.

| He's not exactly a classy centre, in a no cap world i'd have him on the wing, where i think you'll see him next year if the rumours on atkins are true

He is a winger, he played there for Melbourne in the NRL and represented Austrailia there a number of times. How you can say he is not a winger is quite puzzling. He's just a big winger, who can play centre.
Look at Richards for Wigan, he started out as a centre then was put back in his natural position on the wing and has been our top try scorer for the past 3 seasons (soon 4).
King scored 3 tries in the CCS, 2 where off high balls that you would usually find a winger attempting to catch.

1883.jpg Didn't William Webb Ellis pick up the ball and run, someone should really tell Rugby Union.

Sorry kidda, but he did. A whopping 16 times out of 91 games for Melbourne, all in his first season. The fact he played his next 67 consecutive games at centre is totally irrelevant.

32195.jpg R.I.P Captain Marvel (Mike Gregory 1964 - 2007)
Sportsman, Gentleman, Hero
LEGEND
We’ve waited too long for this day to come
Thirty thousand Wires standing as one
All travelling down, a sight to be seen
Man, woman and child sharing one dream
Tension in the crown as kick off draws near
Mixed emotions: excitement and fear
Restlessness as we huddle like cattle
Then Morley appears ready for battle
The rest of the team follow to fight to the death
The hooter sounds and we all hold our breath
Again the fans will have their own role
To sing and show passion deep from the soul
There may be times the players feel beat
Feeling too weak to achieve this huge feat
With their hopes and dreams they’ll look to the skies
To see a Primrose and Blue haze in front of their eyes
Then comes the roar; we never stop believing
This is one relationship we won’t be leaving
Cut us we bleed like everyone, that’s true
The difference being we bleed Primrose and Blue!:32195.jpg |

| Carney - purely down to fitness. If he's assessed fit enough to get through a season then yes, he's a good hard competitor with a good attitude who will motivate other players, he's also always had a good try scoring record. Carney's the type of character we need in the camp.
