I dont think its the fact he has been sold, (good riddance i say), its who he has been sold to, the fact that he isnt cup-tied for this season, so effectively will play against us should we draw Wigan in any of the rounds and the fact that we dont seem to have any immediate replacement lined up, (although i might be wrong ).

.and four times for one of our players to prove themselves against Gleeson.

As highly as I rate the player when he is on form, he never performed anywhere near his best playing for us after 2005. But he showed he was still one of England's best three quarters in the World Cup so in that sense getting rid of him is a bad move.

Would be interesting if TS picked Gleeson for England in July.

As much as I share your sentiments 1-5, we have to concede surely that Wigan, over the last 3 seasons, have progressed 8th-6th-4th in the league final positions, whilst we have not shown any progression. So not sure how we can argue that we are a "team on the up".

Also, I believe points 2 through 4 apply to Mr Briers also.

There hasn't been many players making the transfer from Warrington to Wigan. I am struggling to think of any.

Billy McGinty, Neil Courtney, Brian Case, Ian Potter, Martin Crompton are all recent examples that spring to mind.
