The timings not ideal, i'd have played wednesday without a doubt.
Secondly, you're all moaning for nothing, theres no way on earth Atkins will be let near an England shirt again anytime soon after November and Harrison may get a sub spot by fluke, especially if Widdop, Burgess and Ellis come over. 4 or 5 down at most'"
They aren't.

| I havent read any news articles of late but last week Ellis said he wanted to come over in some press article. If they dont make this game they shouldnt play in november imo, you cant pick and choose your games for your country

But how would it really be of any benefit to Ellis/Burgess or England? We know those two can more than hold their own against the top sides in the world, it's also not a position we are amazingly short in. Flying them around the world for a single game wouldn't be good for them, so leave them their.

They aren't picking and choosing - their clubs have said no because it's not a proper international match.

| Just looking at the selection processSelection Criteria
All players in the squad are NRL club trained players.
An initial squad of 95 players were eligible to play. This squad has been reduced to 32 by Exiles Head Coach Brian McClennan and assistant coach Terry Matterson.
There will be a selection limit of three players per club.
Hierarchy of selection criteria for players is number of votes, position, then club. Coach has final say.
Process
From the 34-man squad, the Exiles coach will make five selections during the voting period and will announce a further four selections throughout May.
Fans, who register on the official selection website, will be given the opportunity to select their strongest starting 13.
Supporters have until midnight on Thursday April 21 2011 to submit their squad selection.
The nine players selected by the Exiles coach and the highest ranked 13 players selected by the fans that have not been selected by the coach will make up the 22-man Exiles squad.
The Exiles coach will reduce the 22-man squad to 18 in the week leading up to the International Origin match.
The 18 players selected by the coach will go into battle against England on Friday June 10 2011 at Headingley Carnegie Stadium.
Any player who has to be omitted from the Exiles squad, whether that is through injury or other unforeseen circumstances, the Exiles coach will have sole jurisdiction to replace that player with a selection of his choice.
Key Dates
13 April Brian McClennan will make his third selection pick
20 April Brian McClennan will make his fourth selection pick
21 April Fan vote ends
26 April Brian McClennan will make his fifth selection pick
28 April 18-man Exiles squad revealed (13 fan picks and five coach’s selections)
4 May Brian McClennan will make his sixth selection pick
11 May Brian McClennan will make his seventh selection pick
18 May Brian McClennan will make his eighth selection pick
25 May Brian McClennan will make his ninth selection pick and full reveal of 22-man squad
7 June 18-man squads announced for International Origin
10 June International Origin Match – England v Exiles, Headingley Carnegie Stadium, Leeds

Looking at the above, it would appear that there will be a maxium 3 players per club in the 22 man squad, not just fans voting. So there will definitely be no more than 3 Wires playing. And although Hodgson, King and Joel are the three at the moment, M Monas could still be picked in McClennans next 3 choices (his fifth pick is made before the 13 fan picks are chosen). So, if he does choose M Monas in any of his next 3 choices, the least voted for Wire (currently King) would drop out.
I think that's right anyway!

Did you come up with that SEB?
At the end of all that basically McClennan will pick the team he wants.

Does look a bit like one of mine doesn't it!
It looks like he picks 5, the next 13 players will be fan vote based, then he picks another 4. Then he can choose whatever 17 he wants out of that 22. So yes, he does have some flexibilty but will have to go with the fans vote in putting the 22 together at least. The really interesting bit is who will his picks 3 to 5 be.
Of course the other factor is there is a fair chance at least 1 or 2 of the 22 will end up unavailable through injury.

He'll just pick the 5 he wants that aren't getting any votes. There are bound to be 8 of the 13 that would make his 17. Then the rest he picks himself.
Good marketing though and I did it for my £5 discount.
