| Quote: Wires71 "You should have introduced yourself to me! Remind me what the question was again, I've forgotton.'"
You queried his demeanour and the fact that he wasn't exactly enthusiastic - his reply was 'I'm always like this'. If you said that to Lowes, his head would explode.

Oh yes I recall now. Slouched in his chair, back almost parallel to the floor giving monosyllabic answers and carrying a demeanor that suggested he wanted to be anywhere but there.

| I am shocked by the demeanour of Lowes. His comments smack of a man not in control and he often contradicts himself. His body language betrays the fact that he often doesn't believe what he himself is saying.
He has to realise that it is a privelige to be in this position and start showing the club and it's supporters more respect. Coaching Warrington should be seen as one of the very top jobs in the world of RL.
Listening to him makes you want to go and jump off the nearest motorway bridge. God knows what effect it must be having on the players.

I agree. I would say he appears surly, dismissive, bored and at times lost. It may be he's just not so good in front of the cameras rather than this being a refelction on his demeanour.

| Quote: norfolkngood "No matter who was in charge we probably would have lost those matches due to the injuries we had. It's just negative things all the time. If you look for negative things you'll find them all the time as most warrington fans do. Last season should be written off. This is his first full pre season with them and first time they are playing or should be playing to how he wants them to. It seems more of a case of players not being able to adjust or refusing to adjust.'"
Come off it, the results are a side issue here. We've all been watching Warrington long enough and been success starved long enough to not let two defeats worry us, it's far deeper than that, it's the manner we're going about things, on & off the field. People who have devoted an awful lot of their personal time to the club are even feeling remote from the club right now.
I don't think, you'd have had more than a handful of people moaning on here (Padders, LW, Panties, 1 x new person random, Sally - obviously not meaning it) if Warrington had started the season with say a 12-8 reverse at Saints, played at the HJ last Saturday, and lost in a similar vein, say 14-10 or similar. If we'd have all stood their and watched that, and thought 'fair enough, looks like they are well short of where they want to be right now with the ball in hand, but structure wise, it took 3 repeat sets & a lucky bounce from a kick etc to beat us, fair enough'. I'm not saying folk would have been happy, but it would have been justifiable, that the bulk of the winter had been spent fixing the obvious, and as the season went on, with the confidence in the defensive line we'd get better with ball in hand, the message, 'don't panic'.
Right now, you can give Jimmy as long as you want, but he isn't actually changing anything. He might change the odd bloke, where the odd bloke defends, the odd play might be different, but it's cosmetic stuff. I couldn't give a monkeys of Briers is on the left or the right really, that's not the difference between 6th & The Title. Until we get somebody at the club, capable of sorting out our line line speed, defensive structure & desire to defend our line, we're done for & we're at best going 'round in circles. This is where the Lowes arguamant is flawed for me, irrespective of injuries to key players, that's gameday - I'll allow him some slack for results, even though I think that's flawed, for the sake of seeing the other side of the fence I'll give that up, so we'll discount last seasons results. But he's had the players every day in training, he's had their attention now since 27 May 2008, 10 months, and there's no evidence whatsover of improvement, results aside, there's no evidence of any area of our game looking better, ball retention, attacking plays, defensively, tackling techniques, kicking game - just nothing. He's had 10 months, 3 of which, we had no games, so he exclusively had time to work on structures, and the tries we're conceding are as soft as they've been if not softer than the last six years.

| yes monaghan came from nrl finalists and so coaching, facilities and attitudes are probably a lot better but so did hicks and for me it doesn't seem like he is disrupting the team whereas i whole heartedly believe that king and monaghan are
i definitely think that they played cullen out of his job on purpose and i think after the initial good run of form under jimmy they are potentially doing the same
i'd sooner see penny on the wing instead of king and bridge and briers at halfbacks instead of briers and monaghan
if i'm wrong about king and monaghan and things turn round and they end up being players of the season i will hold my hands up but at the moment i would sooner axe them than jimmy and then see how the team gels

| Did anyone else pick up on that comment where he said something along the lines of "every player is behind me and understands where i want to go, well almost everyone anyway".

| i thought the defence in first 50 against saints was phenomenal so that has improved, saints weren't firing on all cylinders but i'll have it that it was our organisation in defence that was stopping them

| Don't you think he knows that and he knows what the problems are? Yes we should forget last season or if people can't, then don't just look at the matches we lost at the end of the season, look at the matches we won under Jimmy too then you can have a fair comparison. Not one person who has been on here quoting the last few matches lost in super league have mentioned any positive aspects of the matches we won under Jimmy. And if we had been beaten by the odd few points, the criticism would still be there as it always has been.

Whilst not saying I agree or disagree with you it is simply not possible to "axe" a player under a contract without a will from the player to move to another club, unless of course you pay up the contract.

How much infleunce did he have at that point? It was still firmly Cullens team and he had that 'honeymoon' period all new coaches seem to get from their players.
The relationship between him and the dressing room is now either in RELATE or firmly in the divorce court.
And the relationship between the terraces and Lowes is even worse.

Oh, I did too, and then we hit the wall after 50 mins, as we did against Catalans, as we did against Hull KR. Maybe he needs to speak to his friend Mr Halmshaw and let him know that right now, he's doing him any favours by preparing a side that only has 50 mins in the tank, because the stats are not starting to make good reading.
Saints (A) - Warrington 14-0 after 51 mins. FT : 26-14. (26 Unanswered points in 29 mins. 38 available points with kicks.)
Catalans (H) - Warrington 18-6 up after 39 mins, 18-12 at HT. 18-12 after 45 mins, then FT : 20-40. (28 points in 35 mins, 10 of which spent with 12 men)
Hull KR friendly, was it 18-12 at HT ? Can't remember. 20 odd points conceded in the second half.
If it isn't the structures, it's the fitness. So somebody is accountable surely.

Just on the fitness issue, if you ask any of the players they say they have had a real tough pre-season and they are still being flogged in training. Do you think this could be the problem, they are doing that much training in the week, they run out of gas during the actual game, or am I clutching at straws here..
