Roberts was signed at the last minute and he clearly rushed a decision, regretting it once he realised what life would be like over here. I suppose we bear some of that accountablity as it was always a risk under the circumstances. At the time I don't think we had much choice in the half back department - nothing available and persisting with Patton wouldn't have got us to two finals.

I don't get the same feeling with Austin and his family - they're already embracing the chance to spend a few years overseas (with their euro trip) and seem to be under no illusions as to the differences between here and home.
