| Quote: Wirefan "When trying to prove he has some kind of inside track, RD spouted some crap about SJM and RD taking recruitment matters away from TS because they'd had enough or something similar, which is also why I posted the quote from Sandow saying it was TS who pretty much made him join.
Don't think for even a minute that TS didn't work with SJM and RD to complete this deal.'"
Why would Draper be involved in player recruitment? He has taken over from Gatcliffe and is running the business side of the club.
I'd imagine that approaches are made via agents/managers to Moran, or the other way around, about availability of players and Smith then gets the say on which players we pursue. I cannot envisage any environment where Smith doesn't have the final say on players or where Draper is involved in player recruitment.
Sandow will have been the one that landed due to whatever circumstances but I'm sure that we have made approaches to sign at least two British half-backs and three or four from down-under in addition to Sandow.

| Didn't sandow say one of the main reasons he signed was because of smith? Tony hates me and doesn't want me there...now where do I sign? Oh let the idiots flock, it's very satisfying.

I don't think for one second TS didn't play a part in the capture of Sandow, but the signal he sent out I from his radio interview was placid. By the distance and agents involved with the signing I would say SJM was more driven and his involvement and was far more significant to getting the man.
As for Sandow putting it down to TS in "part" every beauty queen comes out with the wants to save the starving children line.

Totally agree.
Interesting at the end of the article regarding "best aussie halfback" vote.
Where is Nat Wood?

Interesting stuff. No doubt he is a Smith type player on the field but definitely not off it. Hope we have some robust contractual terms.

Sandow said the reason he signed was because of Tony Smith.

| I couldn't give a stiff pooh about player signing comments
"Oh, the main reason for me coming is Tony Smith". WHAT LOVING ROT
The main reason for him coming, is to get paid big bucks. Let's not kid ourselves.
Do you expect him to say in an interview "I think Smith is a total wazzock. I hate him, and all he stands for". No. He's going to say the correct media savvy soundbites, and have done with it.
Let's just hope he shows his talent on the pitch, doesn't behave like a lady's front pocket, and get himself into trouble every other week.
Hopefully, he'll transform a side that's been on a bit of a slide in the last couple of years, and get us back to where we were.

What exactly are these antics.........
The ones Ive heard of:
he had problems with Gambling and alcohol, though are these Just those lack of professionalism problems i.e being one of the lads rather than an alcoholic self destruct downward spiral problem???......anyway he talks about those things well and seems to have come through that ok.
He crashed a car on the way to a game ...ok he fled the scene, a bit odd but he hadn't been on the pop which is a bonus I guess.
He disagreed with his coaches style of play....hardly surprising the NRL can be boring as love at times.....
and He let rip on facebook in one post when everyone was giving him stick for the teams loss.
this isn't a drug cheat, a drug taker, a drink driver, a dog fiddler, a wife beater, or anything that's remotely outrageous.
I know we'd like a clean and Crispy Choir Boy Like Cooper dull as dish water Cronk...but I'm glad we've got Sandow and Not Cronk. (howls of derision from everywhere).
I like the way he plays rugby League,
I like the way he plays with a smile on his face, like the game is actually about entertaining people....
I like the Way he said His mum and Dad weren't into Flashy clothes so he bought them a house instead.....
I like the way he gave it to Issac Luke when he won the game for the eels against the Rabbits....ing good on him..... if he wins the game for us against the Pies...too right I want him to waltz up to Sam tomkins and ask him "how do you like them apples nancy boy?" the fact he got stick for that incident in the press when it was Luke who started it gives you a clue to what levels of nonsense Sandow had to put up with....
I cant wait..........

Very well said , sums up my feelings perfectly , warrington need that bit of attitude, that cockiness, that flash , even that risk and unpredictability,I love him from what I've seen ,to me he fits that Briers role ,We are Wire and this is how we play

| Sandow will be an older and wiser player by the time he arrives in the UK.

| Looking at the highlights it does seem that outlawing the shoulder charge has done him no favours, he seems to relish them!
