August 2009 ,some one from the club had to nip to Ikea for a flat pack trophy cabinet ! I thought yesterdays game was entertaining after getting over the initial shock of what was happening & it was good to see a decent crowd. 20 degrees warmer would have been nice though.

We kept Huddersfield to no tries last week, albeit, in the face of poor conditions. Yesterday has nothing to do with the fact that Briers wasn't playing. We just didn't do the hard work and our attitude (which I've said is most paramount in this game before) was unfortunately non-existent.

Widnes deserved their victory and we need to buck up our ideas. I see us giving a far better display on Monday.

Just to clarify,Ben Cross withdrew at the last minute due to tweeking a hamstring in the warm up and was replaced by 18th man Phil Joseph.It is usually a good idea not to post patronising comments on an internet forum sbout a player who did not actually play in the game under discussion as this makes the poster look somewhat foolish.

1977 was a great year for widnes the first year we won the league title and also it was a great year for music imo. As for turning up at Wilderspoo at 4.30 looking for aggro who with you ----, and also it was always black air wear not red. Best wishes etc....

The fans on Friday really did grind my gears. No vocal backing what so ever. For near enough the full 80 minutes we were trying to get something going. The only time it worked was when we sang 'Sit down if you love wire' but only because no one had a choice. A few have mentioned the team and the fans didn't perform for a derby game. Well we tried out best just Like the team probably did and no one wanted to know. How hard is it really to stand up and get behind the team?

And as for walking out with 10 minutes to go. That is disgusting and would never have happened at wilderspool. Where we were almost always getting smashed week after week.

Whether its old fans forgetting where we've come from and expecting us to win all the time,or a new breed of fan that's only ever seen us win silverware I don't know, but either way the atmosphere at games now, especially at home are being Rivaled by London Broncos... That's my one pet hate, no atmosphere and walking out early.

Just strange how we can't create any atmosphere anymore, for any of the big games this season. When I heard We'd sold out for Widnes I actually thought It would be mega. Didn't expect to have 2000+ people in the East sat there in silence.
