I believe he was still clinging on to Cullens leg as he walked to his car being dragged across Tesco carpark crying "don't leave, you need more time" after he resigned/was sacked.
The same folk who told you we'd sign Bosc & Sinfield ?

Jesus I thought people were stupid thinking we could sign Sinfield but backing it up with Bosc is beyond belief. If only they hadn't taken the word gullible out of the dictionary they could of used this as its description.
Anyway surely people realise that having players like Bridge in our squad on very reasonable contracts allow us to sign the likes of Morley. CVarvell, Monaghan, King, Atkins, etc when everybody else questions how we remain in the cap.
If Bridge was released who do people think we could sign on an equivalent salary?

Briers never ended up in court over something to do with an ambulance.
Like I said before I reeally hope we keep Bridge but pretending he doesn't have aggression/personality issues is daft.'" Who has pretended he doesn't have issues?
My question is how do we know any issues that he has had have hampered him becoming a top player?
There aren't many decent centres knocking around in Britain at the moment, and at times this year he has looked better than anything Gleeson did for a couple of years.
I prefer to judge players on the field and leave the off-field stuff to the management to sort out, if anybody oversteps the mark then they should be out. At the moment, it looks like he hasn't overstepped the mark, and has played pretty well, in a relatively new position for him.
My comparison with Briers is because of people who claimed that he is a crap pro in the fact that he does this and that and should be sacked off, yet he has been instrumental in most good things this year for us (and IMO most other years).

But how good could Briers have been with the proper dedication. Still a great player but could have been really top class and consistent.

| Quote: Dave T "I must admit that Bridge excites me more than Atkins.
Saying that he doesn't have enough class to get away with 'it'. What is 'it'?
I just see a pretty good RL player who has the potential to be a very good player, and one that has already made the loss of a Test centre no big deal at all.
This is sort of my point overall, people keep banging on about his issues, yet he is still better than many centres knocking around, many of whom have no 'it' to talk about.
We have all had the rumours about Briers for years, and now many want to kiss his ar$e, so I make no apologies for supporting a Wire player and going with what the coach wants.'"

Surely we have all learnt that there is more nonsense spouted on here than anywhere else, yet as soon as something bad is posted people are likely to believe it.
With Briers I think we have seen that physically he has been out of shape, which has perhaps supported the lifestyle issues, but with Bridge, I have always thought he looks very fit and lean.
The only centre with more assists than him this year is Keith Senior, yet most people seem happy to get rid of him for Atkins who finally got an assist at the end of the year.
I've no doubts Bridge has work to do, but tbh, that excites me even more as you can see there is plenty left in him. Hopefully uner Smith this will work out, as I think his career has been severely hampered by injuries and his utility tag, more than any off-field issues.

| There's only 2-3 people on here who don't rate him. I think he's developing into a very good Centre. Next season will be interesting, especially as Atkins and King both play on the left.

He's the only back we have with a top class combination of pace and footwork. Add to that a great wingers pass and his kicking ability and I can't see past him for the number 3 shirt next year. Atkins & King to form the left wing partnership for me.

| His kicking has improved a lot as the season has gone on. I can see him finishing up as a really reliable Goal Kicker.

| Bridge is a very rare talent for a centre.
He can pass, tackle, has great footwork (the best in the position I believe) & is really quick.
He is a starter for definate next year.

As long as stays fit. Never questioned his ability just some of the other things that go with it to make a real quality player. Vast improvement since TS arrived. I'm sure that's not a coincidence.

I guess the extra signing will be replacing Chris "extended-contract-in-the-back-pocket" Bridge after his "done deal" to Harlequins?
