remember after the first final though? Attendances the next season shot up. Probably because non watchers went as part of the craic, ended up hooked and came back.

We seem to have a hardcore of around 10'000 at the moment which is a mixture of season ticket holders and walk ups on the day. Not all from Warrington either, as there are a few that make a long journey every other weekend. I have a round journey of around 220miles.
It would be great to fill the stadium every week, however i am not sure that constant success would increase our average attendances by 1/3.

Yeh i know, it is what it is unfortunatley. Like you said everyone went in 09 then the novelty wore after that on. Now its been 4 years the face painting brigade or the telly clappers as DM puts it will turn out again. Oh and while im on one dont anyone come on and say my mum uncle sister or dog who as never gone a game is coming with me. Id be asking why couldnt you get them to go before, but as u say its just an excuse for a p^^s up.

| I don't understand the negativity about band waggoners, we need all the fans that we can get as a game and a club and if 5-10% come back the following year even for an odd game they should be welcomed and encouraged to 'come again'. If you have a lapsed fan at work get them to come along if you know a newbie explain the rules and involve them in your plans. There's always threads about the RFL and marketing well IMO apart from the game itself regular supporters should be an asset in this regard
It's not an FA Cup Final where most clubs have a regular home attendance in excess of the allocation I could understand it if you followed United or Liverpool and missed out to corporates and a ballot system that is oversubscribed but I don't know anyone that has missed out on a big RL occasion because of these terrible people

| I agree with you to be honest Rico, I just wanted to make sure the tickets I wanted didn't get bought before I got them!
It's not the same as football because supply outweighs demand so everyone who wants to go is free to do so.
No chance we've got a hard core of 10,000 though. We've had a few attendances below that, and some of a cup and play off (ie non season ticket) attendances have been woeful. We've got about 8000 regulars who go to the majority of home games I reckon.

| End of the day there will always be differing views on this, which of course everyone is entitled to. It's not about negativity and if you think it could increase attendances by 5/10% then all well and good. Maybe it will replace all those who stopped going after 2015 season, a lot of the people near me ive not seen at games much this year if at all.

Totally agree with the above, i don't like the term band wagoner, however, more time should be given to season ticket holders and supporters that attend games on a regular basis to purchase their tickets (say), an extra couple of days.
Also instead of holding some of the so called better seats back as reported, put all the allocation out, therefore giving regular and loyal supporters the wider choice.
Can loyalty tabs not be put onto tickets sold every week, so that supporters that choose not to buy a season ticket for what ever reason can collect just incase we do reach a final. Just a thought.

| If you aren't massively into rugby, but enjoy a day out having a few beers with friends and family, a day trip to Wembley is far more attractive than a dull Sunday afternoon in Warrington at the HJ. Likewise, if your spouse and kids like watching the odd game, they will tag along to something like a final - hence why you always see plenty in Wigan/Saints/Widnes shirts in Perpignan.
People like events, it just a fact of human nature and modern live-sport occasions. I'm sure we can all tell stories about being one of 50 people watching us play in London on a Friday night, but that is simply how we chose to spend our pay pack.
There is little point in getting high and mighty about 'bandwagons' (awful phrase) and 'true fans'. I'm sure Leeds had these conversations once upon a time...now they have spent most of the season bottom of the table whilst still attracting the biggest crowds in the league!

| I go every week but my family doesn't. But I am taking them all to Wembley.
Hence one ticket becomes five and I dare say a lot of people are in the same position.

| I used to go every week but don't now. Change of priorities in life, I suppose. Still, I'm going to Wembley and would crawl over broken glass to go to Old Trafford. I am NOT missing us win there.

You seem to have forgotten that Old Trafford is the home of the meaningless "Sky Cup" and the tournament we had to beat Oldham, Widnes and Wakefield to get to the final of is the big one. Did you not get the text?

Had our recent fortune been the other way round, I'm sure Old Trafford would be the theatre of dreams and Wembley would be a soulless, half-empty bowl in a nondescript part of London.

Agree with what you say we all have to make priorities, i'm the same, we have decided were not going to Wembley this year, i'm going on holiday end of September, then again end of October and before i go away in October i have to buy my season ticket to reserve my seat for next season, so its save save save we just can't have everything.
Suppose you could call me something (I've got a few) for going every week and choosing not to go to a major final
Paul

Maybe they've just moved? I used to sit in the East Stand, now I go in the South Stand. Not stopped, just moved.

Still available to a good home, seems a shame to have empty seats
