I agree not enough is done to recognise the achievement, but what do we do?
I wanted us to win the LLS so badly last year because i thought it meant something, but i'll be honest the whole playoff system and the way we went out just leaves me feeling...pah.
I don't care about being top, just top 3 now.
In fact given a choice it's second every time now.
The club call is just too much motivation for the other team.

Yesterday just hightlighted the fact we do have strenght indepth.And Smith is not afraid to rotate the squad around. The youngsters will get better the more SL games they play.
Plus we do need to start planning for life after Briers..

Bit of both....Definitely too many sides in the league - 10 would be ample.....The play-offs should be 5 sides max.
This definite gulf in class between top and bottom does nothing positive for the game. With the top clubs now brazenly resting groups of players for games with lesser clubs, in anticipation of more competitive matches, it can only lead to diminishing crowds and interest as a whole for the league campaign.
As a non-season ticket holder, what incentive was there for me to go to yesterday's match, when its apparent that the coach views the match as a 'lesser' game?......Yes, I can watch the 'future' of the club at work, but I have to pay full whack for it?????
I fully back the blooding of youngsters, but in the numbers and regularity that Wire and others are doing it, it is coming across as an insult to the competition as a whole. |

SL teams can't afford to be loising match-day revenue, by reducing the number of teams, unless we keep to 27 games by having a few teams play each other 3 times.
With regards to having too many teams in the play-offs, thus a dilution of quality, yes there are too many. But, last year's 4th team came to the HJ, and got nearly 50 put past them, without scoring a point themselves. Hardly an advertisement for quality.

A totally un-myopic ( "o" level and above dont need a dictionary) reply to my quotation that I was trying to allude to. Basically, the cockiness that surrounds the club.
Take a bow young man. The point in question being Higham's decision to run the ball at the penalty. If, the Salford winger would have got a decent pass, he's away, and a defeat.

perspective is needed here....we are doing better so far this year than we did at this stage last season..... so yes, negativity is flowing in abundance! we may not be dicking everyone by 40+ points but it still results in 2 points at the end of the game!

side with the the best coach in TS and the most vociferous fans when we all pull together to get that Fletcher End sound, which
has been replicated (despite the doom mongerers again) in the big games. i watched last year's challenge cup quarter v wigan the other
night all the way through and although we lost in the end; the first half was amazing and the atmosphere incredible- sounded
like at least 30,000. Even near the end when we had lost and the pie fans were singing "your not singing anymore" we all
started sing "oh warri warri" which blasted out of my tv-so proud to be wire. Let's just remember where we were and be
thankful that our club is in such great shape with so much to look forward to both in the near and distant future.'"
