Little Pepe went to nursery school one day wearing his Widnes hat. His teacher asked him why he was a Widnes fan. He said, “Because my parents are.” His teacher said, “That’s not good. What would you do if your parents were drug dealers and hookers?” He replied, “Well then I would be a Warrington fan.”

Wouldn't that not show up in next season's accounts, not this?
I’ve no idea about how the esoteric, black arts, of accountancy works, but I’ve always assumed that recently published accounts are from the previous years trading?
Therefore, their NRC final will not be included in their recent financial results.

We regrettably do not have a person who can put £2 million into the Club but we do know that we can compete with Clubs in our League both on and off the field.[/i'"
How can somebody injecting £2m into ta company result in extra profit. It will result in more cashg being available but it will simply be added to the creditors of the company, to be repaid at a later date

| I have been told that O'Connor has offered to take the SL place with Widnes and he will pick up the contracts for the existing Crusaders players to form the basis of his new squad.

It'll probably fool the RFL though.'"
WoW thats the simplest way i've ever heard that explained to date.

The only reason Widnes Sport Ltd made a loss of £1Million was because of the considerable investment in the infrastructure of the club when SOC took over. They actually spent £1.2Million on this and paying off some of the old clubs debts. Perhaps the club may have made a slight profit if it wasn’t for the initial investment made. However, the club now has a top class SL infrastructure, which would put most current SL clubs to shame. So this was a canny, long term, investment.
Year two was a different story, with no further expenditure needed, other than the usual costs which come with running a rugby League club. It was a successful season and one where more sponsors were coming on board and such things as a new town centre shop being opened, and lottery schemes, &c, have been set up and grown.
I’m no accountant and, it seems you are clearly not either, but SOC simply putting £2Million into the accounts wouldn’t count as turnover anyway.

WIRE TILL I DIE: |
|
| at the end of the day, all logic can be removed as this is the RFL we are talking about. it wouldn't surprise me greatly if a Scottish franchise started and were granted access to the super league. I think the main problem with all this is that the people making the decisions all seem to have an agenda but don't seem to have much of a clue about anything.

Correct, it will simply be added to the balance sheet as either a creditor (to be repaid later) or additional capital if it is actually "invetsed". Make me laugh when the media say "xxx RLFC have paid off £2m of debts". They have to get the money from somewhere and unless its a wealthy benefactor it is simply a case of moving the debt from one place to another.

50086_1357229109.jpg [b:33tg3xj5]Me:[/b:33tg3xj5] I'm still reeling from the news that someone is considering watching the 1st and 3rd game on Saturday and NOT watching Warrington play. It's like being in Shea Stadium when the Beatles came to town and deciding to nip out for a fag.
[b:33tg3xj5]knockersbumpMKII:[/b:33tg3xj5] Is it FOOK, you're good but you're not THAT good, jesus you wanky fans need to get over yourselves, Beatles at the Shea in '65 was a once in a lifetime opportunity for some (despite the following years performance), you can watch a very good team in primrose & yellow play every week if you really wanted to but comparing it to one of the very best music groups of all time in an iconic stadia such as the shea is overegging your importance, you're not even the best team in SL atm:d7dc4b20b2c2dd7b76ac6eac29d5604e_50086.jpg |

I still don't understand how that stuff is going to equate to an increase in turnover which, in turn, equates to a £1million profit. You would have to sell a lot of lottery tickets. The accounts will be interesting reading and, as a say, should be used as a lesson to all RL clubs.

Is there a point to this post, or is it just something random you’ve come up with?
