| Putting the CC to one side cant believe were that pish that we can't finish in the top eight.
Im sure that will change next year but Che realy is going to have to do something with that lot to get them to be more consistant.

| anyway silverwood made me laugh asking Lauaki if he spoke English.....
for him to respond to Silverwood in quite a menacing manner "What you saying that for........"
"because He (captain Lee Radford) said you couldnt speak English......" was Silverwoods response......
I know Kiwis say "Binch" instead of "Bench" but a foreign language.....

| Some on the Bradford forum are suggesting that Saints deliberately threw the game tonight as they are scared of meeting Bradford in the play-offs.
What utter crap! We all know that Saints will have thrown the game just to pee us off!

| Let's face it - not the first time Saints have lost a game to ensure Wire don't make the play offs. But as long as we have the current regime in charge of RL then it will continue to happen. C'mon the Giants!

| I know it's tongue and cheek for the most part but in reality, the team Saints would love to make the play-offs is the wire. Isn't their record against us the most one sided in the super league?

| We didn't make the top 8 because we weren't consistent or good enough through the season. Full stop.

| Anyone else but me think that Tony Smith might be quite happy this morniing.
Imagine if we got into the playoffs, beat Wigan/Wakefield in the 1st round and then Hull KR/Hudds in the next.
Even if we were then knocked out by either Saints/Leeds in the elimination semi final Smith would have had one hell of a job next season to improve on this year.
The only way to do so would have been a Grand Final/CC double.
Going out now decreases the pressure on the team at the beginning of next season. There will be enough pressure put on the team immediately due to the new signings without an expectaion to improve on, for instance, an elimination S/F place.
SO they can have a good hit out tomorrow, gain revenge on Quins for that day earlier on in the season and walk around carrying the CHallenge Cup at the end.
We can all say goodbye to Rah, Johnson and Pickersgill and leave the ground happy in the knowledge that we will win the GF/CC double next season.

| I didn`t want us to make the play offs in a way simply for the reason that we have too many walking wounded to have made any real impact, Matt King`s injury needs rest, Chris Hicks obviously has an injury that needs rest and thats on top of Jon Clarke, Paul Wood and Simon Grix being out injured.
A long off season is what we need as that will allow the injured players to recover and also Tony Smith will have more time to asses the whole set up as its been fairly full on since he came in, a full off season with the players can only benefit us in the long run.

| I really do have to laugh at some of the comments,I read on these pages.
As for saints "throwing" the game, utter bilge.Whats the point of flogging yourself, when the play-offs start next week and your finishing position is not going to improve, irrespective of the result. Its called resting certain players, something we should know enough about.
Now we get to the real reason as to why we are not in the play-offs.now look away if you are sensitive,but WE ARE JUST NOT GOOD ENOUGH.Since 2000,are finishing positions have been;
6,7,10,6,8,4,6,7,6 and 10th or 11th.this season has been shocking( thank god the CC has glossed over this)But any team that concedes on average 30pts/game deserves everything it gets.
DO YOU THINK IT WILL BE ANY DIFFERENT NEXT SEASON?
History is taught in schools,so future generations will not make the same mistakes as our predecessors. Its the same in life.Would you put your hands in a fire, knowing that the last time you did so,it caused pain? No,of course you would'nt.So why do people think, that next years Warrington is going to be any different to this and previous?history tells you,it wont and it wont because of what goes on behind the scenes.we have the incompetants in the souvenir shop,we have a publicity team that puts up a sign out side the ground telling those who already know, who we play next.We employ dyslexic printers (huddesfield shirts),we have a non-existant defensive coach and a board thats so myopic, that it thinks throwing money around,is the way to win trophies
Looking at previous years, the best we can hope for next season,is 7th and hopefully a good cup run.So as I've asked before,HAVE WE REALLY IMPROVED UNDER GRINNER SMITH AS WE WOULD HAVE DONE UNDER CULLEN?
Still there is always next season,or will we just blame St Helens again for all our problems???

The answer is a big shiny cup and a quality coach.

| I'll remind you that Hull fc also won the CC under a top-class coach.
Where are they now?
