Here's my take on it.

Wire fans are secretly confident that they can beat Wigan and on the off chance this happens, want the easiest possible route to the trophy.
Catalans are the weakest team left and every Wire fan that reckons, had we had them and beat Wigan then it will be third time lucky.
Before the game people wanted Catalan to get there so badly that they were already predisposed to the idea that Catalan would be robbed.
Here are the cold hard facts

Saints would have won that game had the referee and TJ's been infalable cyborgs from the year 5018.

Now IF [and seriously that is the biggest "IF" i have meant in a long time] we beat Wigan we now have to play a team we know are more than capable of turning in a performance to beat us on the biggest stage.

Saints are definitely capable in the grand final yed and it was always going to be a very tough ask of Catalans. I just don't feel they were allowed a fair shot at it tonight.

the people in work will most likely follow soccer so just tell them its a bit like How the team that wins the Champions league doesnt have to be a champion of its league to enter the competition, it can in fact be the fourth placed team or a semi professional side from top of the Swedish league...........so they'll understand then.

or if they follow Union just say "its the same as your sport Rupert don't be so obtuse"

if they dont follow sport and follow cricket or golf just chuckle and walk off to the canteen

Well we wouldn't, would we? Our creative players are all injured. We have to use defence and wear em down tactics as that's pretty much all we have left. Having said that, Adam Swift's try was a piece of brilliance.

Yes Saints deserved to win.
Yes as an RL fan I would prefer OT to be full next week.
Real Wire or Wigan fans would much prefer to play and beat Saints in the final.
BUT The big thing about our sport is its honesty and I am not 100% sure I watched an honest game last night especially in the first half.

Swift's try was also a result of some fine obstruction play (again) by Jordan Turner in the previous set, which Saints should have been penalised for (again), weren't (again) and immediately reaped the rewards for (again).

Hopefully, for the sake of the game, tonight's semi will live up to the billing as the Grand Final in all but name, and will lure back armchair viewers who found back-to-back episodes of "Hetty Wainthrope Investigates" on the Drama channel more appealing thanlast night's stitch-up.

Cats appeared flat add to that decisions not going their way made it harder, Saints got the bulk of the 50/50 calls with Cummins commentary ironing over other decisions, even so in between it was tough with Saints doing what they had to do to win .

And your last few words sir are what really matters in this match. No champagne rugby unless we are far enough in front & we have to play Wigan at their own game to win ...out muscle ,out bully & out enthuse them & give Shaun Wane a bloody nose.

Yed is right. Saints were the better side and were always going to win. Silverwood and the TJ's weren't biased at all, but they were absolutely incompetent.. How you can stand next to a very forward pass and miss it is beyond me. As a team they were awful and none of them should be anywhere near OT next week.
