| This thread got me thinking, could the club actually sell a 'Monaghan Watch'. I'm on the lookout for a new watch, y'know to tell the time and stuff. If the club produced one with say, his face on, I think i'd be interested. I hope others would support this too.

But you'd get one and think 'WOW, this is the best watch I have ever owned'. You would look forward to using it so much, but over the following few months you would gradually become disillusioned and eventually come to realise it is as bad a watch as all the other watches you have ever owned. You'll find yourself looking forward to your next watch hoping that that'll be 'the one'!

Or, shortly after putting it on for the first time he'll walk into a door and it's face will suffer a nasty crack. Or it will lose time, proving to be not as quick as it should be...

Have you tried ceefax page 888. It has sub-titles for the BBC's major programmes.

He'd turned the sound down. I thought that's why he couldn't understand it.

In 1935 The Dragon Slayers as they were known defeated Canterbury bulldogs 91-6, which is still the biggest win in the Club's History. In 1907, the St George district had a club in the Sydney rugby union competition. Interestingly, the team's area was referred to as the 'Illawarra suburbs'. A resolution to form a St George rugby league club was made at a local meeting held in early 1908, but the movement faltered and collapsed. St George, wearing the district colours of red and white, played in the NSWRL's Third Grade competition in 1910, and formed a President's Cup team in 1911. References were found at the time to district teams being called 'The Saints'.the perfect 11
