I thought England put some good drives in last night.

James Laithwaite was far better than Waterhouse when he came on. GOB provides us with the much needed kicking game, which sadly Myler and Ratchford don't.

Now he's got a full time contract I'd like to see Declan Patton at Super League level at some point, he continues to look impressive at U19's and comes up with little bits of magic.

I thought the atmosphere did get better as the performance lifted. Anyone would have taken a draw at half time, just a bit gutting to have the win snatched with seconds to go.

I don't think you can call anyone that plays professional RL a coward.

GOB did well last night if a little predictable, what surprised me was how little control of the game Brough had, i thiought he would wipe the floor with us. I would like to see more of GOB and wonder if Briers has any influence on his tactical training and also will the club send him to Joey for one to one off season sessions?

I can only agree with comments on Wendyhouse and Myler, England and Woody need to find that bite in their work ethic otherwise they will be castigated also.

i think there are 2 types.

type 1 - Doesnt want the ball as he doesn't like getting smashed, so his colleagues have to pickup his slack.
type 2 - Goes round putting in sly digs and giving it the big man, then hides behind his team mates when the going gets a bit rough.

I would agree but if they were to display those dis-attributes in more than the odd bad game then I would guess they wouldn’t last long in any SL side, and what’s more they should never have been there in the first place!

Ratchford and Bridge have to play in the halves if we are going to win another game this year...and its a big IF.

Soft defence + poor half backs = no more wins this year.

Lots of work to do with this team to get us anywhere near Old Trafford and Wembley again....and we need a few more players. Another decent prop, a fast winger and a proper, creative scrum half who can organise and shout at people. Maybe another 2nd rower as well.

You're way off on England wirefan, after a shakey start(which can be attributed to the whole team) England has been nothing short of fantastic considering its his first season in SL, he's a work in progress granted, last night he was quiet, but he was quiet by the standards he has set so far this year, definitely one to keep an eye on.

I have a lot of time for England, he's improved a lot this year and I think there's plenty still to come.

As for O'Brien/Myler, one thing I've noticed is that O'Brien seems to get targetted much more than Myler, to the extent where is quite often caught in posession. Now, is this because he is not fast enough of thought/foot, his positional sense or awareness of what is going on is wrong or simply that he is perceived by the opposition as much of a threat?

I don't know, but he was one of our better last night, his kicking game was bob on, he took his try very well, his kick for Atkins was excellent and one or two misreads aside, he looked assured at this level. We certainly need to bring another dominant HB in but I am firmly of the belief that it is Gareth, not Myler, who should be partnering them.
