| Phil kinsella said tomorrow might be a bit tight with the pies match. I guess it'll get a play on Friday and Sunday.

| Big Roy touches on why he ain't up to speed with SL.
He says that the game here is an open game and as an NRL player they are taught to take the ball up, not to pass and soak up the tackle with defenders on you.
After 12 years of playing that way it's like a whole new ball game to him but he is committed learn this style and he feels he has and will continue to make progression as the season goes on.
He found it difficult early in the season to make any progress as the whole team was out of form and he was unable to develop during this period.
(Me).....its interesting because I have seen improvement in him and it has been noticeable only over the May period.
So its good he shows some honesty and perhaps some of us may give him some support or at least hold off knocking him for a spell to see if his committed remarks come in fruition.

I'm totally with "rubber duckie" regarding criticism of our players. Some on he forum love to give out stick to the likes of Big Roy & Myler and it goes on and on and on .... supporters are meant to support. I think Roy is a brave and honest man to admit things have not gone quite as he'd like. The obvious truth is that lots of imports to our game have found it tough ... I was so disappointed with Michael Monaghan's first season (having watched him playing in Oz). Good luck to big Roy.

| Oh blah blah blah. Of course supporter are supposed to sport their [iteam[/i through thick and thin, but that doesn't mean they have to be blindly loyal to every individual in that team or organisation, particularly if that individual's failure to perform is holding the collective back.
Players coming over from the southern hemisphere who turn up and go "oooh it's cold", "oooh it's raining", "oooh I've been playing the game for 25 years but I'm not used to offloading in the tackle" really crumble my biscuit. If some of them did a bit of research and spoke to other players instead of drooling over the pay cheque they'd be better prepared.
As for Asotasi specifically, he shows about as much venom in interviews as he does on the pitch. Man up, admit you've not delivered, tell us what you're doing to put it right and at least offer us a glimmer of hope that you are here for reasons that don't have a picture of the queen on them.

So you are telling me that you have never once criticised anyone that has ever played for Warrington, never boo'd the team off after a horrible performance, never criticised a referee or a video referee?
I find that highly difficult to believe should you answer the above question with a yes.

| Well, if Big Roy has got it in him, and can still remember how to use it, tonight is the night to show it.
In a pack shorn of Westwood, Waterhouse, Grix & Wood he is the man. He has to be our enforcer (and I'm weeping as I type those words), leader and spine of steel in the middle of the park.
More than a 20 minute stint would be useful too.
This night is yours Roy, seize it.

In understand the 'get behind the team'/14th man argument at games... although personally I can't stand the average happy clapping fan... but surely critique is what we're all here for. A forum without honest discussing the merits of players would be a place for idiots.

| This was never going to be a good signing, he's been poor in the NRL for some time and I believe he didn't make the Samoa World Cup final squad.
I was made up we didn't go for him.

I better answer this one then. I have never boo'd the team off and I've never shouted criticism of a player. I've coached loads of teams and criticised lots of players whilst training but when on the field or coming off I've tried to be positive. Bit of a saint ... I suppose. On this board I have criticised the odd player but not repetitively like many do. I would never criticise someone's character. It's the constant getting onto individuals backs that I find unhelpful. I hate the idea that "I pay my money so I can say what I like" ... even if it's rubbish.
If you boo your own players you need your head examining.

Well personally, I don't get invited to Wires training sessions so the only place I can criticise is on the terraces, or here.

| Roy's admitted the transition is harder than he thought and the game significantly different to that in Oz.
So - even though I have criticized him - the fact he recognises where he is currently is a good starting point.
In my view tonight against Leeds he was one of our poorer players (if not the poorest), but I do expect him to improve significantly over the year and to be in the the team on merit - which arguably he is lucky to be so at the moment.
