| Wire were very lucky to come away with the two points as it was a perfectly good try turned down by Bentham because he didn't go to the screen.

Nah, it was a try all right but if we needed to we would have scored another.

| Just listened to the match report on Sky. Apparently the conditions were terrible and Smith was very happy with the performance, bearing in mind the conditions.

| Just watched what I thought was the game, but reading the thread it was another one.
While it was certainly a grim day down in Perpignan, we won it through a first-class try and because our kick-chase was excellent. Brent Webb was grinning from ear to ear at being constantly slammed behind his own line by Westwood and co.
Riley had a terrific game, considering the number of times he ran into a brick wall his ball control was first class. Great finish for the winning try, from a superb pass by Brett.

Riley is ridiculously vulnerable to a kick being put into the space behind him. And it is costing us week in, week out and it was an awful effort for the Menzies try.
He has the turning circle of the Titanic.

| having watched the entire game i thought, given the travelling and the conditions ,it was a great win by the wire, great all round perfomance and great defence by the wire, hundred times better than the wembley *rain affected* game and wire had much more severe conditions to cope with than the wembley no show!! onwards and upwards to the g/f imo for the wire!cant wait for the leeds game!

Penalty count reported as 14 - 4 in Catalans favour. Do you want to reconsider your rather one-sided appraisal of the referee?

I don't think it is physical, it is more mental. He doesn't seem to sense what is going on around him. Another example is where he knocked the ball out of play, when it was travelling at speed towards the dead ball line, within nobody close to him.

To be fair, this has been a problem all season. Teams are scoring against us like this almost every week.

| Anybody else go the Rodney to watch it? Was packed. Take a lot of confidence after that. Good to see us be more sensible with the ball and the kicking game was superb.

I've only seen the highlights but I can't blame Riley for the Menzies try. Menzies was coming on at such pace, onto a kick which was perfectly into space that it's not Riley's fault that he couldn't turn and out sprint Menzies. Immediately before the kick, Ninj is drifting in defence so he has to turn, change his angle of run and chase the kick against a man who's sprinting directly onto the end of the kick. Not that Ninj isn't suspect to kicks in behind, but that one instance was more quality play from the Dragons than anything else.
From the highlights you wouldn't know it was raining - until you see the players hair and they all look like drowned rats.

| Not the best game, but the conditions were terrible. Just before the kick off it came down like stair rods. The roads were cascading with rain and if it had continued like that we were thinking it may have had to be called off, but the rain never stopped the whole game, so considering the conditions we couldn't complain really. Bentham didn't help our cause, when we dropped it, it was a knock on, when they dropped it it was a penalty?
