30462.jpg [b:3oz7jfnu]Wigan Warriors coach Shaun Wane told BBC Radio Manchester:
"Some people within the club [Castleford] have come out with comments saying we're beatable and it's a great game for them and they're very confident.
Many of the comments I've heard have been bordering on disrespectful.
They can be as confident as they want, but they're going to get a tough game this weekend and we'll be trying our best to make sure they don't get that win.
We've played in some big games over these last few years and they've not played in as many, if any, so to be that confident is very risky for them.
They come here with confidence because they've scored a lot of points and beaten us at home, but I wouldn't be overconfident if I was them."

That's clearly the new perception of all Wolves fans to ridicule other less well off super league clubs than yourselves now that they have been rescued from the doldrums that they were always in is it not?
It's surprising what money can do to a club and also a change of culture into the bargaining too, after all its not so long ago that Warrington were nothing more than a Sunday pub side was it?
For all your snide comments yed your club still hasn't won a grand final despite it's big financial outlay has it?
A club still in the Rhinos,Saints & the Bulls back pocket i'm afraid

| Is it arrogance if im right though?
Cas are falling to pieces and i'd be surprised if they survived the next round of franchising.

| Besides what's you points, when we were crap, i knew it, the guy on the terrace knew it we all did. We were ridiculed, we sold off our better players etc.
And?
My/our attitude has changed but so as our circumstances be it fortunate or not.
No one else gave a crap about our fortunes and we haven't won a GF you're right, but i wouldn't change my last 4 years for yours.

| Just a heads up on the giants situation. Lunt is our only current player exclusively playing in the hooking role. Although faiumu has been on the bench he has been interchanging at 13 and robbo is playing 7 this year but has been covering 9 to give Lunt a rest during the games. This means robbo and lunt have been playing big hard minutes. Given the fatigue our players have suffered in recent years Anderson is ensuring that these key players are getting a rest and that is why Dwyer was brought in. Our U19 squad consists of mostly 16 and 17 year olds and there isnt anyone ready yet to step up with one young lad who has been playing at 9 just gone to play in aus. I had heard we were looking at Milner but given what has happened at cas that has probably hit problems now.
He played reasonably well last week, quick hands and decent passing, he made a couple of errors but given he only trained once before the game with the squad he can be forgiven for not being clued up with the plays etc.

It seems to be the Warrington way to get halves playing at hooker all the way through to the senior side. Sullivan and Monas spring to mind notwithstanding what happens in the academy.

Although to be fair Manly Warringah soon sussed out the Monas wasn't a scrum half and shunted him to hooker in Aus. We signed him and thought we knew better but his unerring ability to pass to the opposition soon convinced us otherwise ..... and we, and he, never looked back. Sullivan, on the other hand, was just mediocre in any jersey.
The point is valid though and in the modern game, hooker (and FB to some extent), scrum-half and loose forward all seem to be interchangeable; whether that's a good thing is open to debate.

I'm sure that you wouldn't Yed and that says so much more about your clubs very near progression to the next level and that's the one that you havn't quite reached yet despite spending how much on transfer fees for Myler and Ratchford than it does for our demise does it not?
I'm pretty sure that you would swap your last 4 years with the Rhinos though would you not,or are you not gauging your successes' against the big boys?

Sullivan and Monaghan were both really hookers, that were tried as halfback and then moved back to hooker where they were better.
Sullivan was an interchange hooker at Cronulla, he was signed as a halfback as our third choice to replace Nat Wood, after Matt Orford and Michael Monaghan turned us down. He was no good as a halfback, so we went back to playing him as interchange hooker, with limited success.
Michael Monaghan was a hooker at Manly (Orford was the halfback). We signed him as a halfback, he was so-so, and then went back to playing him as hooker when he became one of the best players if not the best for a while, in SL.

by big boys you just mean Leeds....as quite clearly we wouldnt swap our last four years with Saints AND Bradford's last four years, and despite them being champions one year we still have won more major trophies than Wigan over the last four years.
And as a team that has progressed from a team of not even nearly men I actually wouldnt swap the last four years with Leeds . I love the challenge cup and Leeds have hated losing it too btw.
But if this year we could do a deal with leeds, we could let them win the challenge cup and they could let us win Superleague that would be nice.

| Some are saying you have given up on Dwyer? From what I have seen he's a good player......might be going to Hudds to properly test himself in SL.....if he messes up it's with Huddersfield.
You've also loaned Blythe and Evans to us, with Carvell and Morley getting old you'll need someone to play prop alongside Chris Hill and Wood (not sure if he's a prop :/ ) so I wonder if the same people think you've given up on Evans :/
