| Let’s not get our knickers in a twist…this just gives Riley regular game time at Championship level rather than Reserves every other week…he can be called back whenever we need him…plus he is still training with us so ‘win win’ for all concerned.

appreciate i'm putting you on the spot here and you're limited in what your able to say, but he spent most of last season on loan at york and Dewsbury. i know we're under a new coaching staff now, but for young players going out on loan, is it purely a case of you need minutes and reps, or is there some sort of metric that our club looks at, or is it just Pricey tape reviewing performances to say "we thought riley wasn't as strong at X but we can see he applied this on 3 or 4 occasions in this game" you've improved
I'm genuinely interested in this,i'm guessing game time as a half is completely different from a prop/back row which is mainly hit ups, tackles, marker tackles etc.

| Dean has only had 3 starts so far this season, he needs regular game time in order to develop.
Williams and Ratchford seems to be the preferred halfback pairing at the moment. I expect that Widdop will get the nod at fullback this week but I don’t think that the coach will have any concerns about Thewlis stepping back in should Widdop need to move back to half due to injuries. Mata'utia could also be ahead of Dean in the pecking order at half, should the need arise, with Wrench able to cover at centre. With Minikin being reported as only a couple of weeks away we have further options in the 3/4.
I see this as a positive move for Dean and he can be recalled at any time.

Yes, looking at the Reserves fixtures at best it is 2 games per month - sometimes one. So at least he is getting some more regular game time with the flexibility to be recalled as and when needed. Definitely a win win.

| Don’t get it. Best half back performance of the season was Dean and Matautia against Hudd. Dean have comfortably the most complete performance by a wire half back this season.
Not saying he’s ready yet but would rather than than persisting with Ratchford in the halves. Don’t see any future in the current combination.

Sadly not. This is his 9th loan, I think. And we won't see him in a Warrington shirt again.

| The Robson move definitely reported as permanent. Can’t help but feel we messed him around.

| Yeah, permanent. I wrongly presumed it was a loan as Newcastle have only signed him for the rest of this season.

| Really don't see why Dean didn't come to Saints on loan. He would benefit from that far more than semi-pro'ing it at Newcastle. You could have come to an agreement that he doesn't play against you should you perform miracles in the Play offs too. Would have been a win-win for all parties.

| Maybe it was never on the table? Saints never enquired and we never offered?
Maybe we really needed Robson off the cap and Newcastle were adamant that dean on load had to be part of any deal?
Maybe we don't want saints tapping him up before he is offered a contract?
He will be fine, whatever the reason, we have a recall option and he will definitely be playing for the next few weeks which is important for him.
