| Well, if they were to be relegated, could they take legal proceedings ? I haven't the faintest idea, but no doubt the legal boys will already be crawling all over it. And if it is feasible, does that mean we would expect somebody to be promoted from the Championship ? Because most of those clubs don't wan't to play this year as they would be paying out wages and ground costs but get no gate money.

| Does that make the players contracts void or would that only happen IF they get relegated?
Might not be able to afford it now but if it did i'd make a play for Brad Singleton, really good solid english prop. Would be a nice addition to the squad. Crazy times these, really interested to see what happens and 2 less games will ease the pressure on the players i suppose.

Come on, it's the British RL, the laughing stock of UK sport, what more do you expect but farce and embarrassment?
How can 'global' RL be a serious idea, when they can't even get the game to grow from within the M62 corridor, despite numerous, laughable attempts?

I’m getting to being to embarrassed to say I’m a Rugby league fan after this, we all laughed after the Saracen’s debacle but this puts that into the shade. I saw how angry Brian Carney was When asked for his opinion, his words were do you want me to be honest and then he let rip. RL as struggled for a long time to get out of the amateurish way it’s being run but this a set it back to the dark ages.

| This isn't a "drop in centre", where you come and go as you please. This is supposed to be a professional sport, yet, I've seen more efficiently run corner shops.

One of the players wives has been ranting on Instagram. She reckons that the players have been told to find other clubs. She's not a happy bunny.

| I'm not so sure that we should be so quick to condemn this. We are in, to say the least, a unique situation here. A club based in one country but all of whose players come from other countries, some thousands of miles away. A global pandemic meaning border crossing regulations are many and varied, including compulsory quarantine for people entering some countries but not others. A league where the clubs have been able to 'get by' in 2020 by Sky not reducing their payments this year - money that this club receives no part of. The near certainty that this club will play no games whatsoever at home in 2020.
Now, those opposed to the Wolfpack may say ' we warned you about the issues with having a Canadian team in SL '. Fair enough, but they [iare [/inow in SL and no-one could have predicted Covid-19's arrival.

Agree that the circumstances were all in currently are unusual in the extreme. However, on the other side of the coin, it may look to some that Toronto are seeking to dodge the relegation bullet with the assistance of the RFL.
I made a comment earlier of what happens if other SL follow the lead of Toronto and also withdraw from 2020, giving the parting words of see everyone again in 2021?
This is a huge watershed for the game, and how the RFL and clubs handle both the short and long term future of the game is critical to saving it from reverting back to semi-pro. Toronto withdrawing from the competition just doesn't help, and it highlights the logistical problems of a transatlantic competition. It would be interesting to see how Toronto have justified to the RFL how they will be able to run a SL team in 2021. Should they not pay their squad due to financial issues, then how many of them are going to stay loyal and put their hand up for 2021, and what happens should Argyle invest his money in Melbourne Storm? There's a possibility of having a club needing to seek a new owner and playing squad for the 2021 season, which doesn't fill me with any confidence in respect of Toronto's future.

I think there could be a president here, where a team can take on a players contract, go over the salary cap with it, (or loan deal) and it should last up to 3 seasons or the remainder of that guys contract as a position of player welfare.
A player shouldn’t have to find himself redundant through a folding club because of a salary cap restriction.
