| Maybe a fairer way of handling this ,as Shiny has said with the points system not being a level playing field, would be to dock the overspend from next year's salary cap, or even this year's & force the club to sell some players.

Because the accusation is that they made hidden payments to players through a separate company owned by Koukash, and therefore not declared on the live cap.

Maybe some of the players were registered as race horses.

| Definitely having a mare at the minuet but it's what a lot of people suspected after the fallouts with players who seemed to leave under a cloud, they now appear to have steadied the ship a little so from now on let Koukash answer the charge if he learns from it hopefully the club can move on.

If Koukash got run over trying to cross the M1 at night wearing a black onesie, he would blame the car drivers, the Highways Agency, the police and anyone else he could think of.
The man is too arrogant to take any responsibility and therefore learn anything.

Monitoring outside for the people inside: |

| Blimey, watching Salford must be like watching a car crash with your close relatives in it.

| NottinghamTiger loves Salford..... constantly on our board imparting his "wisdom" on all matters relating to Koukash or Salford! I'm not condoning what Marwan is alleged to have done but one thing I will say is I hope we (Salford) as a club get a fair punishment and are allowed to move on from this. Let's be honest, he's not the first and he won't be the last to use "creative accountancy" when paying players, he's just not been clever enough to avoid getting caught and as such he and the club (quite rightly) will face the consequences. If the Wigan case sets a precedent then a 20 point deduction will be a joke.
We all know bungs/back handers/wives on club payroll etc have been going on for years and I'd be amazed if no SL club at some point hasn't been guilty of knowingly breaking the cap. And yes that includes star-studded squads of clubs not too far from ourselves geographically.....

| The way Koukash conducts himself in business equates to how he runs his club.
I could say a lot here but it isn't the right forum. Let us see where everyone is in the next twelve months.

You have personal dealings with him Mark you'd like to share with us? Feel free to PM me because I'd be intrigued to know more. I've had numerous bad experiences with banks, mobile phone companies etc but they're still huge multinational companies. Unless there's something more sinister to your comment?

Anyone interested in this need look no further than the history of the refurbishment and opening of the Doubletree Hilton in Liverpool, facts of which are in the public domain (Google is a marvellous thing) and are summarised below.
The original company was El Layla Properties which went into compulsory liquidation with creditors owed £1,705,815.00. The only asset the company had was some land which was purchased by the company for £5m and was the subject of a single offer to the receivers of only £10,000. From what I can determine in the Baker Tilly report no creditor received a penny and they had started to investigate transactions to a related company but this was abandoned as being 'uneconomic'. One of the companies issuing the winding up order was Porcelanosa (North West) Limited.
Layla Hotel Liverpool was a proposed prestige project subject to prolonged delays (ten years in total) but is now open as the Doubletree Hilton Hotel under a newer limited liability company 'Layla Hotels Liverpool'. The new hotel company seems to list no assets and allegedly already has a deficiency for creditors some of whom are still seeking payment for works in the prior and current companies which both list Dr Marwan Badea Koukash as Director.
The time elapsed between the compulsory winding up due to insolvency of El Layla Properties and forming the new limited liability company Layla Hotels was a mere 72 days.
Koukash is also a director and shareholder of the Oxford Management Centre, which in January 2016 was compulsory struck off. The company was the focus of four previous strike off actions.
A quick Google will also reveal six dissolved Directorships in the last ten years and a reported current net worth of negative £7m.
Just reporting the facts and figures which can be found using a simple Google search. Interpret them as you will.
As a postscript, I have just read this as well;

This is how they kept their points deduction down to four. Sadly for Salford, their offence, if proven, took place under the current rules ( 20 point maximum ) so the timing element does not apply in their case. Personally I think Wigan should have had a bigger penalty, but, rules is rules.
