He will deserve it if he contributes to a winning performance.
Clearly he has never done this in the past and thus has never deserved to be in a final, i suspect that the same scenario will occur tomorrow.:30555.jpg |

| Good game, good game, Sir Bruce.
On the coverage though. That was embarrassing.
People watching, must have thought "Good God. How many presenters do you need".
We had
Hemmings
Stephenson
Clarke
Carney
Studd
McDermott
O'Connor
Wells in the pre-amble...talk about too many cooks
and Arthur (who we never saw)
Angela Powers must be sat at home with a voodoo doll and a bucket full of pins, shouting "where was my invite".
Also, the national anthem, and players being presented to "dignataries"(FOR A LEAGUE GAME) was trowelling it on a bit thick, wasn't it? Looked a bit small time, trying to be big time.

Didn't like how Eddie kept going on about football fans, did he really think any football fans watching would respond well to him basically calling football players pansies (when someone, possibly McGuire, was bleeding and stayed on the pitch)? Wilkins plea for people to buy tickets for Magic Weekend was pretty cheap.'"
Criticised for trying to promote the game? You couldn't write it...
Oh hang on, you just did...

They'll probably 'win' SL form there. In a way I hope they do 'cos it's a loving joke.

Or carry a good performance through to next week and we'll be top.
As long as we don't get beat on Saturday.

Some of the presenters were doing 3D coverage mainly or only in Arthur's case, so they needed more (in the case of Clarke though, less of him would be welcome). On the football on Saturday there was Redknapp, Souness, Gullit, Neville, then with a presenter, commentator, touchline reporter they were nearly up to the same number on HD coverage alone.
Overall an interesting game, a very good crowd of 15,343 and hopefully high viewing figures.

| Absolute breath of fresh air last night was Ganson's refereeing, and listening to John Wilkin after the game speaking like a normal person, and being passionate about our game.

Agree with all that. An earlier poster ridiculed what Wilkin said, it's about time someone started to try to sell our game properly. I thought what Wilkin said was absolutely right. It was a great game and a perfect way to sell RL. Just hope Saints can keep this up on Sunday.
Ganson was also superb. He got virtually everything right (despite the South Standers), and only went to the screen once (for the brilliant Makinson try). All in all a great evenings entertainment.

50086_1357229109.jpg [b:33tg3xj5]Me:[/b:33tg3xj5] I'm still reeling from the news that someone is considering watching the 1st and 3rd game on Saturday and NOT watching Warrington play. It's like being in Shea Stadium when the Beatles came to town and deciding to nip out for a fag.
[b:33tg3xj5]knockersbumpMKII:[/b:33tg3xj5] Is it FOOK, you're good but you're not THAT good, jesus you wanky fans need to get over yourselves, Beatles at the Shea in '65 was a once in a lifetime opportunity for some (despite the following years performance), you can watch a very good team in primrose & yellow play every week if you really wanted to but comparing it to one of the very best music groups of all time in an iconic stadia such as the shea is overegging your importance, you're not even the best team in SL atm:d7dc4b20b2c2dd7b76ac6eac29d5604e_50086.jpg |

It was a refreshing change from Wilkin to hear something positive, he used his awful column on the BBC website to talk negatively about the game wherever he could. Fair play to him.

| Wilkin did a magnificent job in the post match interview, he came across well and not thick as pig excrement, thank god peacock didn't win it, there is only one person I hate hearing interviewed more and that's Josh Charnley deary me that boy needs a few elocution lessons, cracking player but I just feel Super League players don't come across as well as the players from the NRL when being interviewed so hearing Wilkin last night was a breath of fresh air.

| I'm a bit suprised with all the Ganson stuff though....
summed up by Eddie When He said something along the lines of:
"Ganson has reffed like This a few times now, he makes quick calls and is confident with his decisions........................and nine times out of ten is right...."
I thought the point of the video ref was so we could get ten out of ten right...........????

Which is why he went to the Video ref when he wasn't sure about the Makinson try.

| I think it's great that Wilkin talked the Magic Weekend up, all credit to him.
But let's not pretend that he's always like this please, more often that not he's a right miserable sod who comes across as aspiring to be the next Schofield.
