| Morley, Hodgson, Solomona and Briers potentially all being released or retiring would leave more than enough cap for Ellis.
If Tony wants him then Im sure we will be in the market but you would have to say that Leeds may be his preferred option.

| Very nice is Wetherby, pricey property though.
I suppose, Leeds, Wakey, Bradford or Cas could be in the frame then. Unless he fancied the yorkshire bus lol.

Wetherby to Warrington is 71 miles each way. I did a similar commute about 20 years ago and after a while it gets you down.

| He's 32 and will be looking for a very big long term contract...We have Waterhouse,Westwood,Grix who are all very good 2nd rowers...
I would leave this one alone although i do rate him.

| The house in Wetherby is not a new purchase. He bought it when he played for Leeds.
Nothing stopping the lad from selling that and buying something in Stockton Heath, Grappenhall or Stretton.
Time will tell but it could be a Morley-esque signing for Warrington.

We could always to a Man City and just buy him so that no one else gets him

The Tigers had been poor for a fair while and so was Benji Marshall, its only recently that Marshall has picked up his game.
Ellis probably got player for the year being consistent without being flash where as quite a few around him at the Tigers including Farrah were hardly being consistent.
Ive yet to see Gareth Ellis have a great game for England where you end up going "wow i wish we had him at Wire", he's just looked solid at Wests in amongst a load of inconsistent performers.. I'd take Benny Westwood all day long ahead of Ellis, Westwood would go down a storm in the NRL, he's got Nathan Hindmarsh the 2nd written all over him.

| I'd be very surprised if he didn't return to Leeds. Doubt any of the other West Yorkshire sides could meet his wages. Quality player but not for us imo.

| I'm not sure that we need a backrower, signing Waterhouse means our backrow is complete and he wouldn't come to play second fiddle obviously.
The only way that I could see us being interested is if the rest our recruitment for next year is pretty young and we're looking to find ways of keeping experience/leaders in the side, losing Morley, Briers & Hodgson you lose some serious on & off field leadership and Ellis would to some degree replace that.
I'd be happy to see him sign for us, maybe Waterhouse could play front row (like a Puletua) covering backrow, Ellis & Westwood in the backrow.

| Next years recruitment is going to be very interesting with a quota place up for grabs and plenty of dough to spend.
To be honest I was looking for a more exciting signing than Gareth Ellis.

| Has a house in Wetherby ,yes ,but doesn't Kevin Sinfield still commute from Oldham?also I remember a few years ago he was said to have bought a house somewhere near you ,and it was all "done deal".Good luck to Ellis,I hope he gets a good deal from wherever

1883.jpg Didn't William Webb Ellis pick up the ball and run, someone should really tell Rugby Union.

| We don't need to sign another experienced backrower, we have two peaches waiting to come through in the U20s.
