I really didn't think Morley would play against Hull.
TBH i dont think his hand was anywhere near right and it was heavily strapped.
They better not be risking further and more serious injury by playing him.

| The club have not really released much injury news at all this season - probably a good thing as it limits the amount of info the opposition get and keeps them guessing about how we line up. I know some fans feel they are being deprived by not having full access to each player's medical notes but it doesn't bother me.

Che Smith made that point recently - why should he give the opposition an advantage when he doesn't have to?

| Im not bothered about whether we are given a full insight into players injuries.
What i am bothered about is players being risked when they are not fully fit.

And given your first point - that we don't have full insight, we can't possibly know what risks are being taken, so not sure what is bothering you? If anything, Smith has shown he's more than willing to leave players out if they aren't ready to play - Hicks, King and Johnson were supposed to be minor injuries, but all three were left out, despite that causing huge changes to the backs.

Im just going off the amount of strapping on morleys 'broken' hand.
Does a broken hand really recover suffciently in 2 weeks?
Was it ever broken in the first place?
Is Mr Smith just using injuries as an excuse to rest players mid season?

It wasnt a broken hand, it was a bone in the hand that was broken, not a serious injury..

Indeed, I remember all those games that Lee Briers played with a broken scaphoid back in 2003

| I dont think Tony Smith is using injuries as an excuse to rest players. Would you take 3 backs out in one week. I just think he would prefer to play players out of position ( Is there such a thing as out of position any more?) or play younger players than play somebody who is carrying an injury.
By this stage of the season there will not be many players who have not got knocks but in the past we have shoved players out there who clearly should not have played (Morley in play off against Catalan).
I can't understand the need to question if Morley had a broken bone in his hand. I have broken several bones in my hand / Wrist. From my own injuries if it was a metacarpel then he would still be out for a couple of weeks with it pinned. If it is a scaphoid (or similar smaller bone) then there is a good chance he hardly noticed it it may have been broken for weeks. Mine had been broken for 3 years before I could be bothered getting it X rayed and diagnosed.
I am sure there are enough people in the know on here to get hold of his X rays though.

Exactly, why would we want to publicise injuries too much. It also gives opposition coaches too much info on where to target players who are just returning from injuries, and might be susceptible to futher damage.

| Morley was on the radio last Thursday evening talking about his injury. He said he was seeing a specialist the following day (Friday) and if given the ok he would play against Hull.
Hardly MI5 considering it was broadcast by the BBC.

Still surprised by such a quick fix though. Then again like the old saying goes 'you can carrying on playing rugby with any injury above the waist'. Amazing what you can do with tape and cortisone.
