| Heard this the other day and wasn't too sure if the info was reliable, couple of other straange things were mentioned. It appears as if true now.
Can't say i'm too mad on Riley at full back, not sure how he'll be joining the line in attack

Would expect his kick returns to be excellent though

Seems as though Riley will be our Full-Time Full-Back if he takes his chance.
He was supposed to be Full-Back against Hull KR and Lowes was always going to give him a chance there until he picked up an injury.

| Personally would have been far happier for this game with Hicks at FB and a backline of Riley,Johnson,King and Penny or even more so with Johnson,V. Anderson/Bridge,King and Riley/Penny.
However James knows what he is doing. I just hope if it is obvious from the start that it is not working he is far quicker to change the positions than they were when we messed up with the Bracek/Penny combo that lost us the game in a daft 10 minutes after half time at the beginning of last season.

| Holy Shhh.....it.
Lets hope Riley doesn't get the jitters or dropsies, I can see Mongy Longy bombarding the Ginger one with massive high bombs.
They will attack our weaknesses thats for sure. Riley needs to make sure he deals with everything thrown at him in the first few minutes.
I for one hopes Riley makes the full back position his own, then maybe we can get rid of that waste of space called Reardon.

| Can't see a problem with this, as the lad has played at full back representative level & is his natural/prefered. Also, as has been discussed on here a lot, full back is a specialist position & not one that you can just "drop into". Dont get me wrong, I think Hicks did a decent job covering, but he's a much more effective weapon in his natural/prefered wing position.
It's also nice to see a coach playing players in their correct positions - whether this is successful remains to be seen.

| i reckon he'll go alright, if lowes puts him there he obviously has confidence in him dealing with kicks which he will have seen in the off season and should be able to handle defence from fullback against breaks from all but the biggest thinking back to the job he did on tadulala last year (apart from the one cross field bomb which he got steamrollered on)

You wouldn't believe me if I told you. Was told they were looking to spell Benny at 9 Couldn't tell if it was tongue in cheek and I heard Blythe was starting, which again seemed strange.
Probably codswollop but he was right about Riley and Gleeson.

Maybe he meant that Benny would be subsituted at exactly 9pm?
If Louis isn't fit then I can see Blythe starting, he looked quality last year.

| This could be Jimmy's making.
To beat Saints you have to kick high to the outside backs & to target the side where Armstrong is (or who ever is replacing Meli).
Leaving Hicks & King in the backs is the better option, especially as our main strike centre is out.
