If Price was happy with Patton. Why did we sign Widdop? He is only there for cover & is not 1st choice.

Who wouldn't sign Widdop? He's world class. When have I ever said Patton isn't dispensable?

Spot on regarding Widdop, if he's available and we are an ambitious club, it's only right that we'd take stock and make a play for him or anyone else that will improve us?

I agree with you that it doesn't relate to BWW's comment well if he's happy with Patton at all.

I realise that Widdop is British, but with him having played all his senior rugby in Australia,is he classed as an overseas player?

Ratchford even when he was being moved from pillar to post showed glimpses of being a creative Top 4 SL player.

Any chance we can have a single topic dealing with Patton rather than every topic developing along those lines? Whether pro/anti/neutral he is currently in the shirt and until the club decides otherwise so be it.
As for the comment on Widdop he undoubtedly was to replace Brown not Patton.

Actually RD the topic was about what we do if Austin got banned. I know it’s easy to become confused when all topics end up proceeding down the same lines.

He's definitely overseas trained but I'm not sure how it works if he has a British passport and plays for England. I'd be surprised if he is quota, I'll be happy to see him in a wire shirt regardless.

My biggest worry as and when Patton departs is who is going to lead the tub thumping and TFW song in the sheds. Worrying times indeed...

I don’t consider myself a particular fan of Patton but this constant slagging off is engaging my sympathy gene.

I don't know about sympathy gene in my case it's the pique gene that's getting twitchy. He's got the half back spot this run should end the debate one way or another and we are currently two from two as a team.

IMO and getting back to the thread title "What do we do?" First of all we should get behind the player it's not his fault he's in this position and it's quite ironic he's getting pelters given the amount of stick Brown got and see how the first part of the season pans out. Then we should keep our eyes out for any opportunity, you never know the half back situation might not be our prime consideration
