Some people have said Shaun Edwards but not for me, due mainly to his lengthy career in RU. I know it sounds bitter but I really don't care. Last thing we need is people walking past and saying 'oh look, isn't that the bloke who Coaches Wasps?'

And you want Jonathan Davies. He has spent far more time in Rugby Union than Shaun Edwards.

Didn't Hanley go to union though for a brief spell in the early 2000s?

If Edwards and Hanley are out because of their union links how about Phil Clarke? Wigan and GB captain and an instantly recognisable figure in RL that has not had any links with union.

How good would it be if when you were walking up Wembley way you were greeted with a bronze statue of Phil Clarke in heroic pose with a sword and shield, like the iconic statue of Achilles in Hyde Park:



Around the statue plinth at the bottom it could have an inscription like THOSE WHO COMMIT UNSPORTSMANLIKE PLAY SHALL RECEIVE THE PUNISHMENT OF THE RUGBY GODS, it would be an inspiring message that to me sums up what the greatest game is about.

Move the genitalia up, just above the eyes, and I'll back your idea!

Maybe they could get the sculptor to alter the shape of the genitalia if Wigan reached the Challenge Cup final.
