Totally agree - they come on here moaning about our wages - yet it's them that have been done in the past for going over...and we never have - funny that!!!!

The transfer fee doesn't count towards the salary cap.

This year we have got rid of Gleeson and Reardon and brought in Carney and Mathers who I assume will not be on anywhere close to the players we've lost.

Also rumoured to be going at the end of the season are Rauhihi and Johnson who will be on decent money.

Still don't let things like this get in the way of your bitter and twisted moaning.

Here's a thought for you - maybe the figures in that article are wrong - it has been known.

Also, just because it is alleged that a player has turned down a record offer from their club does not mean the offer from another club is higher - sometimes people move to further their careers rather than line their pockets - a bit like Fielden and Gleeson did........

its 50%[size=17(iirc)[/size of his (and anyone else been at the club for 10+ years) wage, only up to £50k though. and that £50 is for the full squad, not per player

so why are you assuming that because we are paying 300k he must put us over the cap

dont know about you lot but 300k must be a load of bull poo? and i have not got a clue what his wage will be but im pretty sure its not going to be close to 300k a year

Breaking the salary cap??....I really can't see it happening anymore, at any club.

I mean, how long as the salary cap been going now??....10 years or so??....If anybody did break it now, I think being kicked out of the league should be a minimum, purely on the basis that the club can't be organised well enough to do its own sums properly.

In the opening years of the cap, I could understand the odd error, as clubs got used to it....I could just about accept a club cheating in order to stay in the league...(well, somebody was bound to try it!!)....However, right now, I'd like to think that clubs are professional and responsible enough to know they have a limit to stick to, and I firmly believe ALL clubs do....Just look at the Challenge Cup finalists and the most open league in years for proof....
