When you look at the SL title in isolation it does appear that Saints have not been dominant. However, you need to take into account that Saints have topped the table for the last four years and won the CC for the last three.

It would be unfair to judge Saints as not dominant because they lost two SL finals against the better team on the day and failed to reach the SL final the year before because of a well-documented injury crisis (thanks Newton)! On those three occasions, you could argue that the best team in SL did not win the SL title - such is the nature of the competition - just as in 2002, Bradford were the best team in the comp but did not win the SL title.

thought we finished top in 02 as well. Bradford were certainly the best team in that final by some distance though.

Saints may have been a dominant force over the last few years but they stil look like a scruffy grubby little club to me........

Actually, SEB didn't prove your point, as SEB looked back over the full SL history, and not the last 10 years, which was your point.

There is no doubt that Saints have been the most succesful team during this period, but IMO it is wrong to say they have been dominant, as you can't get away from the fact that out of their 5 SL Titles, 4 of them came over 7 years ago, and their last one 3 years ago.

I thought we'd win both the last Grand Finals and predicted so. However I'm not sure they were shocking predictions after we'd finished top, won the cup and beat Leeds in the GF qualifier on both occasions.

I also predicted Saints would muller HKR at Saints earlier this season but how many folk would have thought HKR would win at Saints realistically ? That was a strange result.

Agree to an extent. There is no doubt that as the league evens up then the utter dominance of Saints every year will stop. However, with the new ground coming and good management of the club then I doubt we will see a Wigan style fall from grace. We should consistently be there or thereabouts. I also agree that Warrington one day will join us as a competitive side, again though I doubt ever seeing you 'overtake' Saints at all.
