| Quote: JWP "Briers wasn't a problem on Friday, your caning the wrong people. He was decent, his kicking game was okay too, you seem to think it wasn't. The only time he kicked badly, was when he was given crap ball on the last, when we'd struggled to get out of our own forty, he was forced to kick with his left foot under pressure and daft stuff like that. This is what's starting to bug me with you, you hammer Briers but not Monaghan, and you fix would be to drop Briers, when Monas was far, far worse. You advocate Penny dropping out, when again, King was far, far worse. '"
Most of the Briers kicks went straight to Wellens, apart from 1 little kick through i cant see any kicking game.
I also believe Monaghan would be a better player without Briers on the field and that's why i wont Briers dropped.

You quote the games he played wing, and I will quote the games he played in the halves.
Do you think I just made those stats up?'"
Not at all but JWP seems to think he had 15 games and i agree, why would the article be wrong?

They didn't, honestly they didn't. In the first half, we pinned Saints down pretty well. In the second half, when it all went to pot, we had no kicking game on the back of no go forward.
I've watched the game a few times since, partially down to some of the chat on here, and in the first half I thought we kicked & in particular chased pretty well actually.

I'm going to agree to disagree for know but please watch the Briers kicking game in the next 3 games and we will have this debate again.

Kear isn't a journalist, and will have just remmbered that Bridge played the last 4 games of the year on the wing.
Gaskell, Fa'afili and Appo were our wingers for the bulk of the games that year.
I willpoint out though, that these stats are just for SL regular rounds.

My point was that he played circa 15 games of SL that year. I pointed out that he missed the start after signing through injury. I know he played some of that time on the wing, some in the halves. When we had Joey, he played at Hull away on the wing, setting up a try for Toa. He played a game at Wigan in the halves, scored a try kicking on a Briers kick through and diving on it.
I'd go with Dave T, he knows his stuff, and it seems about right to me.
EDIT : According to Dave T stats, he played 20 games, bit more than I thought. If you give him the sub apps as wing (?), then he played half on the wing, half in the halves pretty much, that seems about right from memory.
Wood & Briers were the halves. (Joey & Appo the odd appearance.)

According to the official club website he played 18 games plus 3 on the bench, so that would be the same as mine (as mine exclude the playoff against Hull).

did he balls, he got played on the on the wing at the end of 05 as appo had been fooked off in to make room for johns, cna't remember what had had happened to gaskell whether he'd been dropped or injured at that point.

Don't worry, we won't have to wait long for another instance of it.
There'll be a thread this week about us selling less Hull FC shirts than any other SL club or something.
