| Fair points. We’re timing it well….we’ve more players missing than Wigan but less than Saints but we’ve got better cover I feel. Personally I think we’re the best team. Wigan have a shedload of pack members on their books who are pretty poor…Dupree, Ellis, Walters, Cooper to name a few.
My worry is that Leigh make the six. I’d be much more fearful of playing an in-form and fully fit Leigh than Wigan.

| Two statement wins over the last week that have said: "we are here and we can beat anyone at our best".
I thought every player was brilliant last night and my favourite passage of play was shortly after the O'Neil injury where Crowther, Walker, Wood and a few others really ripped into Wigan in defence in the middle of the field and really bullied them. There were moments earlier in the game, even when we were leading, where Wigan looked like getting over the top of us with their big pack but that was the point at which we really won the arm wrestle and it was fairly plain sailing from that point onwards.
Great to see Lindop show that sort of performance in a big game. He has done well as a stand-in winger but yesterday he looked a real threat and the way he took the second try was tremendous.
The only thing I'm currently concerned about currently is Bateman coming in because none of that back row deserve to lose a place and Fitzgibbon needs to come in too.

| Brilliant performances from every player last night, Bateman will be lucky to get the 18th man slot if we have no injuries.
It really looks like they are all playing for each other and all of them are prepared to defend.
One of the moments of the night for me ,(apart from that Yates tackle) was the Tai try - 10s to go, 30 points up & he was so determined to score when no one would have blamed him for just taking the tackle.
Well done Wire & well done Sam & his coaching team.

Perversely, I would like to see Holroyd rested. He has done fantastically well, but he has already played 16 games to date.

| 28 points out of the 40 we scored last night were from academy graduates. ‘But Warrington don’t have an academy, they just sign anyone’.

The things I’m being told about our academy those days are long over, the future looks good with our young guns.

Burgess called Lindop a ‘world class player’ in his post match conference so that tells you how highly he rates him and what a superstar we have on our hands if he carries on the way he is.

For anyone that wants to see the emerging Academy players, our Reserves are playing Bradford at the Halliwell Jones Stadium today, with a 13-00 Hrs Kick Off.
With all the 1st Team/Squad players that we have injured or loaned-out, our Reserve Team will be mostly made up from our Academy.

| Again, the most impressive areas were the gritty, determined bits. Defended with a tremendous attitude, scored tries from our own end and found a way mop up pressure and come out the other side. Completely un-Warrington like.
Watched it back and was surprised by the stat when Holroyd scored. Think it was his 15th game of the year. Invaluable minutes on the field for him. While we miss Fitzgibbon, principally in attack, Holroyd has been superb two in a row.

| What a great all round win. The young lads really amaze me with the performances they are putting in & we must have the biggest number of players who actually thrive on defence..
It's as if Big Sam has found the team's collective g spot.

Some of these six agains seem to be awarded before there has been enough time for an offence to be committed ,but it was nice to see the ref not going to the screen.

Commented on that at very first try. It always seemed to be every try we scored went to video ref.

| Thought the ref had a decent game actually. Handled this little bit of handbags well and as others have said just gave the try rather than relying on the screen, which ruins the excitement. His hand was forced on the Marshall incident, which is an act of gamesmanship more than foul play, but that’s the rule. Hopefully common sense will prevail and no cause for action by the disciplinary panel.
With London on the horizon, I’d be looking at resting Dufty. With respect to London, that is the week where we can best risk resting him. Similarly with Williams, you get the feel that we need those two on all cylinders come the play offs, so we need to work out a way to get some energy in the tank. But with Thewlis, Ashton, King, Fitzgibbon all having a few weeks rest, Harrison having a week of without damaging the results is a win, and Philbin’s return on the horizon, the bulk of the team will be as ready as they can be approaching the back end.

| Wire Life is good at the moment and I’m making the most of it. But at the same time it feels like the last night of a great holiday. I know Burgess is going next year and I know we have to go back to reality. Will enjoy it while it lasts though! Praying for our first SL trophy.
