| Yes, it was awful to watch under Price other than two glorious games against St Helens and we were dreadful in knock out games after his first year, but what was hiis overall win percentage? We certainly won a lot more than we lost.
Note, I am not suggesting for a moment that he should still be here.

| Quote: CW8 "God no, I would rather just stop watching rugby league, out of sight out of mind.
I'm not sure Powell is the right man, our kick chase and line speed have been awful all year, these are basics, but they're fundamental within successful sides if he can't instill basics then that's a worry, dropping Dean who has been our best half this season was a massive error as well.
BUT, don't forget how boring and poor we were under price, I would say that steve Price is the worst coach I've ever seen including plange etc. Price had a full salary cap and a lot of good players at the peak and he wasted the opportunity. The rugby we played was appalling, if we went a score down, we lost, the toothless attack is a hangover from price but I also don't understand why Powell can't change it?'"
My post was over-emotional but I can't identify a single area of improvement. The only sources of any optimism are Wrench and Thewlis, and I don't think Powell can take much credit for them.

I think individually a lot of players are doing alright but there isnt a team there at all, it's all completely disjointed (like it was under price in all honesty). There are too many 1 man attacking moves and that just shouldn't be happening.
We need some big changes in personelle, we will have plenty of cap, squad and overseas quota space at the end of the year but I really don't fancy our chances of recruiting well to replace what will be leaving given KFP is involved in that process.

| Thought Thewliss, Wrench and Ashton did well. Showed how raw they were thiugh, after making a great break didn't then know what to do. Who was supposed to be leading the team around the pitch, who was setting up plays. Looked very disorganised, which meant a decent effort brought little result.

| This is the problem, we have no identity. We have no hard men, we have no metre makers we have no leaders, we have no defence, we have no controlling half backs and we seem to have no plan to make the best of what we’ve got. The only thing we have is the youngsters being very good - take a bow Thewlis, Longstaff and Wrench and for crying out loud build a team around them. I was up for giving Powell 2 seasons but IMO he has until the end of this one because this is really REALLY poor

| I can’t begin to quantify the point of Oliver Holmes. It’s like he’s here for a holiday. He was pretty handy at Cas. Never have I been so wrong about a player as I have him. He’s not even bang average.

| I've seen a pile of Lego collapse slower than Wire in the last 10 minutes. Are Warrington Wolves the Man United of RL ? Not looking good I'm afraid.

Completely agree. Don't underestimate what counts as a holiday if you're from Cas though.

Bang average are words we can use for quite a few of these players at the moment but I’ve said it on many occasions our recruitment is nothing short of shocking.Thurs could be a new low.

| The Obvious
Physically we have go ourselves further & further behind other clubs. It is very painful to watch. Even our youngsters (who are looking relatively lively) are all on the less physical side. At the end of our sets we kicked for distance from well inside our own territory. Catalans were kicking from at least our half-way. Saints are even more physical than Cats. The odd bit of tinkering with this side is unlikely to make much difference against the big boys. Oh hell doom & gloom or what? Come on cheer up Smiffy!

It's the darkest before dawn. The nadir will be Saints. I will watch from behind the sofa.

Aren't Saints and Wire about 10 miles apart and yet you're going to watch from behind the sofa. Call yourself a fan. Get yourself there and shout for them. They need all the encouragement they can get.

| I am going to single out Ratchford here.
So Thewlis fails to collect a bomb and we concede a drop out but then there was great work to bundle Yaha into touch to regain possession and straight after Clark conceded the dubious penalty. Ratchford questions the ref and goes off shaking his head. It is all one way traffic after that. Now he did something similar against Hull KR last year just before mikey lewis chipped over the top. It is that leadership element that really disappoints me. Hill was similar when he was captain, questioning the ref and walking off shaking his head.
So what does that do to the mentality of the rest of the team. I can't remember a successful team when senior players would do that. I am sure Sinfield questioned a few dodgy calls but would have had a word with the team telling them to dig in not walking off shaking his head with the aura of defeat.
Before that we weren't great but there was a bit of fight in us (bundling Yaha into touch being an example) but after that penalty we collapsed.
Dont get me wrong, Hill, Cooper, Ratchford are very good players but do we see the qualities that senior leadership players at successful teams possess in motivating the rest of the team.
Sinfield, Peacock, O'Laughlin, Roby. I can give you a list as long as your arm of players who would never give reactions like Ratchford did. Watch the replay just after the Busquet try shortly after and then his reaction to the ref signalling a T to send up the video ref for the Dudson try. Ratchford actually puts his head in his hands.
I am sure people will say I am reading too much into it but the on field leadership at this club has been shocking for some time and has to change. I can accept a defeat in perpignan but not the collapse in the last 15 mins.

| I’m sick of transition periods. It feels like we’re constantly waiting for something good just around the corner. That’s why the atmosphere has died in the stadium. The section I sit in is deserted - I can walk all the way to the end of my row without asking anybody to stand up now.
I was planning to watch the game on catch-up when I got home yesterday evening but accidentally spotted the score and didn’t bother.
Saints and Wigan seem to be able to change coaches and key players and keep on winning. We are no closer to success than a decade ago.
