It's interesting as you claim not winning the GF as successful?

I'm not expecting Price to have a volte-face and deliver the equivalent of the Harlem Globetrotters next season.'"
I think its reasonable to say it was a successful season, even if you don't think we're heading in the right direction overall.
In the 30 seasons I've watched Warrington, I'd rank 2019 the third most successful season.
Top 10 for me:
2012
2010
2019
2009
2016
2011
1993/94
1989/90
1990/91
2017
After that...not a lot to shout about...

Don’t know how you got to that conclusion, , but seeing as you have, it’s interesting that you wouldn’t enter the Challenge Cup as you consider winning it isn’t being successful.

| Other than the CC I didn’t enjoy the majority of last season. I have seen us play some dog dirt rugby in my time, but it felt like we really underperformed, whether that is fair or not that is my perception. I was disappointed.

| First 9 games of 2019 we were 8 from 9, level with Saints at the top, we weren't great but we were managing to cope with the loss of Brown, Austin was showing flashes of what he was capable off, defense was good and we were waiting for Patton to step up and Currie and Murdoch-Masila to rediscover some of their previous form.
We lose to Saints and then Salford but we win the next 5 from 6. Still not good but we're still 2nd with a big gap to third, we're going ok in the cup. Alright, Patton isn't getting any better, neither is Currie or BMM but we're coping.
Remaining 12 games we manage just three wins. We lift he Challenge Cup but over those last 12 fixtures we are bottom with Wakefield.
Last year we had no attacking flare. Once teams had worked out how to contain Austin, and especially once we lost Ratchford, we had nothing to offer. The problem was that Price persisted with Plan A. We need that spine of Clark, Widdop, Austin and Ratchford to stay fit and healthy for as much of the season as possible.

| We need a dominant pack but great post St H Wolf.
The CC win and subsequent CC games prior, Price got as many big uns out as possible.
Said it many times. The props are bare bones but good enough to win the lot if they remain fit, with the size of backrowers and outside backs we have. Lineham and Gelling will be huge for us...they are like forwards.

I really don't want to see us play with 13 forwards!

| What we really lacked was leadership. Independent of the argument as to whether Hill is the right choice as captain (I believe that he isn't) what we lacked was a General on the field. Austin tried to fill the role but I don't think that's his natural style. Brown should have been the organiser but due to his injury we were left with Patton who couldn't direct traffic on Tesco's car park.
With the arrival of Widdop I'm looking forward to his organisational skills as much as his ball playing ability. It should be something like the lift we got with the arrival of Giddley.
