| I'm struggling to energise myself to go the Catalan game, never mind looking to next February.
Until the club confirms who is in charge for next year, keeping money in pocket.

nope that's me done as a season ticket holder...... I wouldn't pay for these second string matches if I had the choice.....
if as seems likely, The coaching set up stays the same, players played out of position regularly, and players dropped and reinstated regularly then nothing will change, and our League position next year wont change....
so the only thing that can change is the fans.... soI'm not putting up with it.

It's hard to argue against PAYG due if
1. there is uncertainty of when the games will be played
2. you never have difficulty getting a match ticket ie) lock outs.
3. if you are not bothered about having "your seat".

I wonder if Saints fans wished their club executive had shown extended latitude to Cunningham to get it right for 2018?

I don't think that it seems at all likely that the coaching set up will be the same next year. Silence from the club is not the same as inaction. Neither Simon Moran nor Stuart Middleton are known for their love of the press conference or for knee-jerk reactions. Neither would it have been good policy to hire 'anyone' for the balance of the season as some fans wanted on the basis that 'anyone is better than Smith'. Going public all the time with internal issues was the original style of the good Dr Koukash - Salford have done much better since he kept his views to himself much more. I fully expect a new coach and a several new players will be on board before 2018. The real issue is if they can be contracted with sufficiently in advance to keep season ticket sales up.

| I would be very surprised if there wasn't significant signings to launch the new season ticket sales. Let's get it right we are losing Gidley, Dwyer, Savelio, Evans with question marks over Westwood, Simms. Blythe and Penny amongst others.
i don't think the announcement to a change in assistant coach would be big enough to boost season ticket sales. And unless we replaced Tony Smith with Mal Meninga I doubt the appointment of many head coaches would have been a big boost to ST sales. For example if saints would have announced their new coach at the start of the season most people would have spent the off season asking "who?"
So unless we sign Greg Inglis, Sam Burgess and Cameron Smith as back up to Clarke I would expect a couple of games next year where the attendance is below 9000.
At least the queue at the bar is a lot easier these days.

was Koukash going public really affecting team performances.....?? I doubt that very much. a few drunken twitter rants and the occasional outburst at the RFL...??
his more professional attitude is welcomed for the game as a whole.
However I would guess it was His desire for the big name players that also had "troubled" past that caused his teams poor performances.
The games Justin Carney, Hock and Chase etc Missed due to unprofessional behaviour harmed them more than Koukash being a public speaker.
and the Example of Moran Not speaking doesn't work well when it [ihas[/i harmed our club because I currently wont be purchasing a season ticket for next season, as I'm expecting the same poop.
I haven't even had a crumb of a hint all season long of anything being a problem with the set up at Warrington.
and given the losses announced on this board the club can ill afford to lose one season ticket sale, let alone hundreds.....

I'm a big fan of John Kear though he seems to be better at improving (vastly) poor sides into good ones rather than creating regular table-toppers.

Well that's a whole 50% more from Kear than we currently have in place now then.

If a 50% improvement is what you want then fine. As stated, I like John Kear, but I don't think he'll win SL for us.

My point that Koukash's many public statements did not help the team ( not attract any more fans, to that point ) stands. I'm sure that the two SMs do not want to lose any season ticket sales, but they are taking their time to do the right thing for the next few seasons, not simply snapping up any old coach or player who is available. Many on here praise ( rightly) Chris Chester, but he has not yet even completed one good season at Wakey.

| Some of the teams unexpectedly near the top of the league this season have been helped by the dire performances of the usually fancied contenders . Wigan & ourselves have been dire & Saints are finding their feet after half a season & i think the newly rejuvenated Huddersfield could cause chaos in the super 8s given half a chance. Some of these coaches of note could be busted flushes come October.
