You'd have to admit he's a bit crap though? Now Hoffman, he can play, but Lima? Average at absolute best.

| I think Leeds should give him a go, Brian Mc could coach the last remaining bit of talent out of him and then we could forget about him.

| Pieman does have a point about the game having moved on.
Can you imagine if Botica or Tuigimala had tried to make the switch in todays era. If they played us then a couple of hits from Westwood or Louis Anderson and they would be going back to the amateur code with their tails between their legs.
It was easier to adapt when you were playing semi professionals but could they have handled the professionalism of a side like us today?

| Does nobody else think Old-man Thomas is a liability in defence? Naive is the word I would use.
Him and Witt defending next to each other against Leeds in the challenge cup game was the reason they managed to lose against a poor 14 man Leeds side.

quote
yes and no. Positionally a bit naive but he has an incredible workrate from the bits ive seen of him. His attack is the same, when playing at centre doesn't release the winger as much as he could but does hard yards in his own half to help the forwards and in opposition half he takes two or three men on his back when being tackled.
Would have loved to have seen him in his pomp playing league, think he would have been top class.

He destoryed us in the pre season game. Shows how far off the pace we were that day.

| In my humble opinion (and having seen Henson playing many years ago for Swansea) he is one of the top 5 backs in World rugby in either code - I'm being serious as well.
Henson is unbelievably talented, if you watch him he always has time and seems to glide/ghost past people as if he isn't travelling. My view on Henson's problem is that, because he is that good, he actually can't be bothered because there is no challenge out there for him on the pitch week to week but when he wants to he is frighteningly good. As an example, many moons ago Clive Woodward was in charge of the British Lions and made the mega (but understandable) mistake of basing the Test side around his old England players - Henson never got a sniff. After not being selected for the 1st Test he was picked for the mid-week proir to it and made the game a virtual one man show simply to prove his point that he shouldn't have been left out. He's that good. When he wants to be - and that's his problem.
He'd be good in League no problem if you can deal with all the above.

| Maybe you're right, but he's hardly played in the past two years. He didn't impress at Saracens and looked well off the pace, and all he succeeded in doing at Toulon was to upset everyone. A really class player on his day, but at 29 there aren't many of those days left.
