Seems more of a common sense move than a brave move. You've proven that spending marquee money on halfbacks is not the way to go and Thewlis should be nailing the fullback spot this year, nevermind next. Dean too, difficult to see how you drop him after that performance against Huddersfield and if he repeats that surely what you suggest happens?

Honestly my assumption has been he would try and bring Trueman over.
Ratchford has struggled at half back in the past and Dean is only 3/4 games in to his career, so yes I think it would be brave.

Trueman is off to Hull allegedly.

| I'd be surprised if Charnley is here next year. I think the players leaving will be, Charnley, Hughes, Widdop, Butler, J.Clark and a few others.
More than enough cap space to sort our weak points out. I'm a big fan of Olly Holmes but he's definately off the boil, but he missed some pre-season and with suspensions needs a bit of time. He's MUCH better than he's shown us so far.
Harrison looks to be 3-4 weeks off maybe making his debut. Hoping he does well but no pressure on him at all as it will be awhile until he gets form and full fitness.

Widdop money to spend big on a prop.
Hughes and Clark money to bring in someone capable of covering Back Row / Loose position from the bench rotating with Magoulias if he stays. Tanginoa has been mentioned, seemed great when he joined Wakey but seems a little quieter recently playing predominantly prop I think so not sure what’s happened there.
Mulhern & Cooper out of contract, both worth of a spot in 2023 I think if we can bring in a significant prop signing.
Whitehead, Burgess & Gannon to hopefully kick on and provide support for injuries.
Holmes will come good I think, already an upgrade on Hughes and I’m not sure Longstaff is ready to take the role full time.'"
I agree that Ratchford could be retained, if he is realistic about his contract value.
The young guns coming into out team, will demand salaries considerably more than the buttons that they are currently being paid, as they sign their next contracts.
Hence they will consume some of the Salary Cap, that is being released by the players leaving.

| Ashton needs longer boot studs.
He has done too much slipping these last 2 games.

No idea, he gets targeted and makes no more mistakes than anyone else really. There is a lot of improvement in him as well.

He makes hardly any, you're right. But having a centre inside you who can't tackle won't help him. Warrington fans won't blame king though, he's an international and Ashton is just a youngster. If I was Connor wrench, I'd look for a new club. If I had his talent and looked at the jokers getting picked ahead of me, then whats the point of staying?

No go forward what so ever.
Mind you neither have Currie or Holmes.
Just signing one prop forward is not going to alter this crap.
We need a Murdoch Masilla type backrow to compliment either Currie OR Holmes, we can`t play those two long term, they are too similar.

| I can’t see any small improvement you talk about. The pack is mickey poor and I don’t see any small improvements making any significant ground to be remotely competitive with our neighbours anyhow. The whole lot bar Cooper simply are bang average at best.
However I hear we will go for a quick fix next season sniffing at Kassiano and Dudson.
