| Gleason. I think he was part of enforcing a change of attitude in all players. Smith fixed an engrained attitude at Warrington that had been there for a long time. He has been tougher than what I think he would have been otherwise because of that.

| I personally don't think he should be allowed to train for manY reasons, the main one being.... HE WAS BANNED FOR TWO YEARS!
HE hasn't served his punishment yet. Bottom line.
We could argue whether the punishment was too strict. I personally think it was too light. No one forced him to take cocaine. He knew what he was doing and should have been banned for life.
I'm struggling to see how I have managed to live my life not snorting cocaine and Hock hasn't and yet he should be given leniency. Not only is it madness, it is quite offensive.
He had a great talent and wasted it. However, if we put away the strange view that he should be let off.
It is an illegal substance- should be banned for that
It IS performance enhancing- should be banned
Could be used to mask something else- should be banned
It can (and does) kill thousands of people in Britain a year- should be banned.
If he plays rugby again it is too soon. Never mind the metaphorical slap on the wrist he got with the 2 years. He should be banned till the second he was banned two years ago.

What about caught for possession but no failed test, same rules apply?

That's a good question.
If they haven't failed a drugs test (taken drugs) I suppose there should be some leniency but still a hefty ban and rugby community service against drugs.

It's a criminal offence, leave it to the appropriate authorities to deal with.

As a trained medical professional, you should know they are well over 2000 deaths a year. (Thousands) and are growing at between 10 and 20% each year.
A simple Google search would suffice.

But you are right. Drug crime is nasty in the UK and is a cause of gang violence that not only kills and injuries drug pushers and users but also innocent individuals.

| I remember the Leah Betts story in the paper and her dad(bless him) going round schools teaching the dangers/evils of ecstasy.
Now i'm no defender of drugs but it was just plain lies, the amount of deaths from actually taking ecstasy are in the single figures every year + the deaths are usually a result of either dehydration or hyponatremia not the drug itself.

| maybe gaz hock should be made to go and do some voluntary work in colombia where the west's appetite for cocaine causes all manner of problems, from the hundreds of gallons of gasoline that run into the rivers from processing factories to the fuelling of a bloody civil war and to the destruction of subsistence farming by the US army's spraying of herbicides
but in the name of those without sin not casting the first stone i highly doubt that the white stuff has not lined the noses of warrington players, and people writing on this forum too, so i say let him back training as long as he does something good in terms of raising awareness about not taking cocaine, which iirc i think he already has
