Maybe you'd be better focusing on your own team's recent inability to produce and hang on to ball players. Having to bring in Wire rejects Dwyer and Myler, and an inability to convince Walker to stay (having backed what seemingly everyone thinks is the wrong horse in Golding) should be a worrying sign for Leeds fans, given their earlier reliance on their academy as the basis of success.

| Paul Sculthorpe is without a doubt one of the best players I have ever seen and well done to your club for spotting him
Iestyn Harris was also in the above bracket
Cooper is an above average player that did OK in the NRL whilst he was there
I immediately thought of these 3 players but then struggled to think of any more that had come right through your system

There aren't many. It's something that's always made me scratch my head.
And don't call us Wolves

Ben Currie - signed at 16 from Golborne Parkside so wasn't poached.
Unfortunately not worked out for Ben and Rhys Evans now, but they had plenty of appearances.
Also didn't work out for Gareth O'Brien with us, but he's now doing great at Salford.
James Laithwaite - got a good run of games but suffered a horrible broken leg.
Gene Ormsby was successful for a while.
This year Joe Philbin and Dec Patton are really improving with game time. Harvey Livett was also looking good before his injury.
A lot of youngsters even though they didn't make it with us, they are still playing in the Championship.
Hopefully we will start bringing through more of our own talent, rather than always relying on signings.

Mike Gregory was signed when he was 18 from Wigan St Patricks.

Leeds academy is doin fine even if walker hadnt decided to stay, granted we'd be doin better as would a lot of teams if warrington scouted and devolped there own players through there own u15/U16 scholarship system rather than throwin money at anyone who looks good playing for other teams U16s. The list on the last page is a poor reflection on warringtons youth system 20 odd players goin back to the early eightys and half of them were useless

I feel your pain...must be terrible for the once great Leeds being seen as a feeder club for a team in the middle 8s.

Matt I really think you have stumbled into your spiritual home. Half the posters on this forum are in denial as well, so welcome. Incidentally, I don't want to sound picky but I suspect you meant to type "...so much nonsense WITH so few words". Forgive me if I'm wrong.

You said, and I'm paraphrasing here Matt, ...Leeds would be doing better if Warrington didn't sign your young players. In other words Warrington are using your youth teams as feeder clubs.
I apologise for the pedantry over your grammar.

| Good to see both youngsters that were targeted by Warrington at 15 and then again at 17 stay.

Thanks but no need, just banter. Yeah i said leeds and a few other clubs could be doin better,id much rather morgan smith was still at leeds than warrington, good young player but i dont think anybody would seriosly consider leeds your feeder club, just like wigan wouldnt be considerd your feeder club because you took ben currie from them. For every leeds scholarship lad you sign, learmonth and smith being the 2 most notable at the time they signed you miss out on loads more....Leeds could very easily do the same to warrington but theres no need because every year our scholarship produces some of the best players in the country and yours produce none worth taking
