Never mind, Eddie. Better luck next time, honest!'"
You missed the bit where he said, "Leeds are looking for the try that we're all hoping for"
This came a moment after Clarke had said "I'd love Leeds to get a try here."

Eddie is a dyed-in-the-wool Wid, who has a penchant for Stains (particularly when Wids were only playing Championship level RL).
His only connection with Warrington, is where he currently lives.

| Lefty.
I think Eddie held down a position on the Warrington Guardian before he went to sky.

| iirc, Eddie was a bit of a "hired gun" at the time, and was certainly not the chief Wire reporter.
Wasn't it someone called Dickens (Alan)?????
and another guy, possible Alan Domville (sp).
I've known Eddie for about 10 years or so, and I can honestly say, he's never said a good word to me about our club.....i.e. typical Wid
But believe me. For those who STILL come on these pages, and say he knows nowt.....have a word with yourselves.
He, along with Stevo and Ray French will have forgotten more in 10 minutes, than many who come on here, will forget in a lifetime.
You may not AGREE with them...but they are steeped in the game

| Talking of Eddie, on the the post match interview with TS, it sounded like Eddie who was still on air made a comment about TS not agreeing with the sky reporter. I know TS and sky have had a less than perfect relationship in the past but that comment would not have been meant to be heard live.

| Brilliant displays all around the park, our forwards were just better in every way, Penny & Russell did a great job and long may it continue.
I disagree about the Joel Monas comment and him being a weak link, Wheeler is our weak link in defence and the fact he was left out made Irishwire a happy man as he would have been targeted.
One of my personal highlights was McGuire absolutely pooping himself when he jumped up to Hill.

| Late to comment but hats off to O'Brien for his kicking game on Friday, certainly improved. Good performances across the park but Philbin is a real positive of the season so far, there was some chat on here a couple of weeks ago about certain players who looked naturals from their debuts at a young age and he's one who already looks very much at home, even in big games.

| I too have been impressed with Philbin. He's a big unit, especially considering his age and he doesn't
seem to take any backward steps.

| After last weeks open top bus ride around Warrington for your entire squad, provided by the Wolves supporters for your sides total demolition of the Rhinos
After all your over the top adulation of a pretty ordinary performance imo i was wondering what you all feel after last nights men v boys clash when Saints did a total quality job on you?
It looks like it's back down to earth with a bang for your boys, just like when Walmsley ran over the top of your monster pack
That's how sport works, One week your great then the next not so great
Be a bit more gracious when you win next time guys

yeah but your not really are you..... ??
we beat Leeds in a tight game and some think it was a great display. Leeds are decent side I think its fair to say? so I don't see the problem in people being positive and saying it was a good win. The open top bus ride joke is not remotely funny (partly because as real open top bus rides go Wire have had more than most in recent years)
compare that to the Saints fans who in all honesty after a win are the worst set of mouth breathing bags ever and have largely been absent from our board for the last five years. these fans show no grace in victory or defeat.
If after the Leeds game Wire fans came out with the quote "I wouldn't take one Leeds player over any of ours " then you could rip in to us, but none of us are that daft blind or arrogant.
Ratchford Hill Clarke would walk in to an NRL team tomorrow and Ben Westwood would have been legend down under had he chose to go..... yet not good enough for Super saints.
give them ends some of your wise words.
enjoy your feed.....

I always think there's something rather cowardly about this sort of post, when instead of taking a particular poster to task for something they said you seek to deliver some fantasy caricature of what the universal reaction was. Speaking for myself, I always seek to be gracious win or lose, my comments were about our team and did not mention any Leeds players. When we lost to Leeds in the GF at Old Trafford I made a point of shaking the hand of the Leeds fan next to me, and made sure my even more devastated 8 year old boy did too. But something tells me that if I did need lessons in good grace I would not be coming to your door.
