| Max wood and hayes keep their place for me.
Wrench/thewlis edge looks shaky in defence.

| Against a decent team, we're toast with attacking set up like that and that number of errors/penalties. Early days, new systems etc but that game should've probably been 40+ points margin.
Fair play to Hull.
Fitzgibbon is a great addition. Musgrove too. I'd just like to see us play it through hands more often

| Hard to judge you with our side and the red. But what a player Max Wood is going to be, sure I watched him for Wigan reserves 2 years ago against Hull and thought he looked a good player.
Unfortunately we tired and your experienced forwards, particularly Vaughan took control.
Thought Haynes did well, only realised Drinkwater was playing when he stopped the intercept.

| I also want to say that the fact that Burgess could’ve shoe-horned Ratchford anywhere into that 17 tonight but instead went for youngsters….is wonderful.

| I thought there were some very strange refereeing decisions, penalties given for no apparent reason.
The red card should not have been given in any sensible world but I worry that it was probably correct under the current directives. Every tackle becomes a potential game changer if that decision was correct.
On the plus side we had been playing with 12 men for most of the game (yes, I’m looking at you Josh Drinkwater).
I thought Fitzgibbon was strong, Harrison had a great game, Currie showed some real graft. Danny Walker played well and Powell is a very useful 2nd string to the bow. Hayes looked very comfortable and showed Drinkwater up.
I may be grasping at straws but the more flowing moves towards the end showed a glimpse of what is likely to come but conditions were hardly in favour of flowing rugby.
In summary, glimpses of promise and Paul Vaughan is worth his weight in gold to this team!

| Anyone for Powell replacing Drinkwater in the halves and having Ratchford as interchange 9.

His kicking close to the line was good, I certainly don't think he was dreadful. The ball never really came out from the forwards tonight, which probably had more to do with the conditions than the halves shirking the ball.
As a senior player on a quota spot he should be demanding more ball though and wanting to be more involved.
That said I do think Hayes was better than him tonight and tried to get involved a lot more.

Our hooker made more effective kicks than this 'recognised' halfback. Says it all. And Hayes outshined him easily. Great hands on the boy, all I saw was Dishwater pass it to the floor. They say a good halfback could play in a dinner suit. This anonymous wage thief could've done so, because he did sod all.
EDIT: One good chase back doth not a good halfback make!
