Oh and don't tell me what to do.
You’re comparing 2002 to 2009, while we may have finished 10th in both seasons, the variables and circumstances were very different.
In 2002 and 2022 we were/are in a relegation fight in a twelve team league. In 2009 we were not in a fourteen team league. In 2002 and 2022, three teams were/are in the frame to be relegated. In 2009, Celtic were below par in every single way, and there was no relegation.
So I’ll say it again, stop twisting facts to justify your support of the current coaching set up. It’s becoming quite pathetic and sad you cannot see change is needed today to survive relegation remain in the top flight.

Back in 2002, we had a squad that you only had to look at and you knew would struggle - they had no class, pedigree, guile or nous. They tried, they laboured but they were jouneymen competing against far better opposition.
Now? We are in a decline which defies logic, and seems almost wilfully masochistic based on the playing roster.'"
100%. 2002 was a rag tag squad of “nearly men” that Cullen somehow galvanised to keep us up. 2022? For me it’s a culmination of pathetic recruitment and retention over 5 years that I won’t expand on for fear of more Piers Morgan comparisons. Lol.

I did not such thing. I said we finished 10th in 2009 which we did. There was no comparison made although you have drawn one.
Anyway, a mark of civilised debate is being able to tolerate alternative opinions to your own without resorting to calling people or views "sad or pathetic". Disagree - fine. Personally I am on the fence with Powell now. But our opinions, even alternate, won't change anything.

It's not really though is it lets be honest. We could quite easily and quite probably keep Powell and still not be relegated. Which is exactly what will happen.
Why so angry?

Then why bring up 2009?
The longer fans accept mediocrity, the longer it’ll be until we’re back in contention to winning trophies again. It means the board can be relaxed about fighting relegation, and scraping around mid-table. They can afford to make below par appointments like Daryl Powell and not face the consequences of that poor decision. It’s unacceptable that we’ve regressed so far in less than one year.

It’s delusion to keep thinking relegation won’t happen to us. If we’re 12th after round 27, we’ve got Championship rugby league to look forward to.
If fans don’t speak up and continue to accept the mediocrity that is being served up week by week, it puts no pressure on the board to sack the first team coaching staff. It means the club is happy to see us relegated. It means the club is put at financial risk losing the sponsorship, central funding and Sky money that being in Super League brings. It means the club is ruined, and will take decades to rebuild.

1. Do you think "speaking up" on here will influence the board of directors' decison? Or are you wanting a sit in protest or something?
2. Who do you want to replace Powell?

I think it's going to happen.
1. Sit in protest and 80 minutes on Sky of the fans chanting for Powell out and maybe a few Tony Smith's barmy army chants. Then a sit in protest to visually show that fact. It happened after cas 2008 when Paul cullen resigned.
2. Tony Smith. Publicly admitted he fell out of love with the game when he left us. And came back to Hull kr and took a 11th placed team and turned them into a team 80 mins away from old Trafford. And left because the boards vision for the club did not match that of Tony.

| I honestly think the board have to stick with him given all the players he's despatched/recruited. I guess it comes down to how much credit Powell has in the bank from years of coaching at other clubs.
Also, I can't think of anyone readily available.
I didn't go to the the game, but I was following it on the Warrington Guardian. Were there any shoots of recovery, were we better than in previous games?

| The main problem we have in games is that we turn off after establishing a lead ,the other team scores & we can't get back into games. I wonder if fitness is the issue. If we hadn't capitulated in so many games we would have been top six material at least.
