| If he’s just adding to the numbers then I’m non-plussed, if he’s replacing Cooper (to Wigan with immediate effect) then I’m not happy in the slightest. No offence to Amor he was a decent prop in his day and a nice bloke, bang average now and we’ve enough of them in the pack.

It depends on the Cooper situation (if the rumours are true). Yes, in an ideal world we would all rather have Cooper than Amor until the end of the season, but if Cooper is leaving immediately for whatever reason, and we just need a stop-gap to see us through until Kasiano and Dudson arrive, then I'm happy enough with it being Amor.

| It's obvious that we need a reshuffle in the pack and we have 2 new in who are both bigger than what we currently have. I don't think we will.w keeping mulhern beyond this season, I like him but Philbins contract must and he will likely be out 5th prop even if he is probably better at lf because he isn't big enough for front row. Unless Philbin moves permanently to the back row and is impact 2nd row in the future (that's what I believe is his best position personally).
Interesting times ahead but out pack will be a little stronger for the second half of the season IMO.

As a direct like for like replacement then I'd agree with you but IF Cooper is 'getting out of Dodge' then there are other factors. Apart from the bad egg rumours, it's short term deal that allows us to get through this season and plan for next. Overall is the real comparison between Cooper against Mikaele plus Amor.

Agreed, if Powell thinks it will help 2023 for Cooper to leave now and is mutually beneficial for the player then I’m ok with it, even though I’ll be gutted to see Cooper not end his career with us.
At the end of the day if difficult decisions need to be made to put us in a better position for 2023 onwards, we just need to get on with it.

| I'll be a bit teary eyed if they bin Cooper off Atkins style. I'll be bawling for the next 4 weeks if we announce a Hughes extension.

I'd say it's desperation if it was a longer contract.
If the option was either nothing or Kyle Amor until the end of the season, then I'm glad we've got him. And if those were the only two options, I'd say it's a smart move.

| If Powell see's the need to ship Cooper out with immediate effect, then im all for it... if he can get rid of the 'bad eggs' (if that what cooper is), then good.
As for this signing, i have no objections to it as a stop gap.... we know were not winning anything this season, so as much of the culture that can be changed, should be

| I think people will be pleasantly suprised by what Amor brings to the team, but irrespective of that, the question of is he as good or better than what we have is nonsense.
Better than Cooper? No, or rather not than the Cooper of 2021 and earlier. Cooper v 2022 looks error ridden and flat.
Better than Philbin? Hell yes
Better than Mulhearn? Certainly as good
Better than Bullock? As good and less prone to error
Better than Butler? Undoubtedly
Who else? Better than Hughes masquerading at prop? Better than J Clark at first receiver?

| Surely Hughes cannot be extended. He doesn't suit Powells style of attacking rugby.

Tanginoa > Hughes, if the rumours are true…
On the Amor signing I’m left rather perplex by this one, an experienced, head-down into the grind, no-nonsense type of prop we let go to Huddersfield last year
Butler & Cooper for Mikaele & Amor.. does this leave us stronger or weaker? I think the latter unfortunately.

Considering one of them didn't really exist, you can't really say weaker. Not at this point
