I think you'll be surprised and you'll beat them comfortably. Catalans seem to be planning on getting top spot by focusing on the easier games. Wouldn't surprise me if they rest a few like they did for the game against us.

| Quote: Uncle Rico "I've got to disagree with you here, well the first bit anyway. You can't have a team full of playmakers and backs it's totally unbalanced and at times particularly when we got going in the second half it was still panic rugby with players getting in each others way and we could have (undeservedly) sneaked it.
Wakefield aren't as poor as you make out from a playing roster POV (they need to look at themselves as a group) and it's generally been a tricky visit we can get beat there and put a proper score on them at home (not just the Price era).
The sacking of Chester contributed to an uplift in Wakefield's performance and the atmosphere at the ground, the banana skin prophesies and there were plenty came true
.'"
I'll put it to you then, who do you blame for the unbalances of the team? Surely that is down to one person and one person only the coach. It has been mentioned that we were missing some forwards yet we choose to leave a prop on the bench for the whole game. Must be great for his confidence that. What is the point in taking him?
Wakefield had lost 5 on the bounce prior to Sunday and had 1 win in 8. The only reason they are not bottom of the league is because their is a Championship team in the league this year who shouldn't even be here. This was a game that with the resources available to both teams and the form of both sides we should have won comfortably.

The "prop" you talk about are you aware of his age and experience? He was unlikely to influence the game. He was obviously selected because there was no one else. Would you have preferred us to turn up with 16 men? When there was a hint of a fight back towards the end would you really have brought on a real rookie?
I have seen lots of coaches leave players on the bench. It does happen and Leeds did it in our last game.
Blaming the Coach for the availability predicament is plain daft really.

I was shocked when I saw Burgess`s physique on Sunday, he is very light weight to play prop.
He is only young, so with some serious work on his part, could put on the muscle that is needed to have a career in Super League.

| I’m not buying this about physique and impact. Tyrone McCarthy played a cup final when he was as skinny as a rake, and kept out Paul Rauhihi in doing so. Energetic youth and aggression takes you a long way.
Sam Wilde was similar, I think he played 80 minutes on debut against Wigan. Even Chris Riley (different position, granted) got off the bench in the play off game against Leeds when he was a rag doll.
If you pick someone, play them. It doesn’t need to be from 70 minutes onwards, could have put them in for 10 minutes midway through the first half with Cooper and Hill still on. A 10 minute rest for someone in the middle would help to keep them fresher for the back end of the game. It’s about trust.

Here's a clue, re read the first bit of my post responding to you.
I wasn't absolving Price for our performance but playing with 4 half backs isn't the way forward either. Wakefield may return to their Championship standard form and losing streak once the Poching bounce has diminished but I think their players are better than you give them credit for
BTW be in no doubt I was thoroughly cheesed off with it on Sunday, Players AND Coach.

| Wakefield had neither first choice centres or a recognised hooker in the team on paper you should have mullered us with the players you had a available I accept your pack looked a bit of put together job but with Ratchford Widdop Austin and Williams alone there should have been enough talent it wasn't until Austin got on that Wire actually looked like an outfit. I also think both our wingers were way faster than your back line and showed it with the breakaway tries Ashton couldn't get near Kershaw and if Johnstone gets a clear run for the try line it's very rare he doesn't score.

The force of your argument dies with the mention of P R!!!!!

I don’t think many on here will disagree that we should have mullered you, but we didn’t. Well played Wakey, but we were worse than poor.

| Strange reaction on here.
It was always going to be one those games.
Anyone with a RL brain know Trinity have a decent squad. The table doesn’t tell the full story as many games were lost narrowly.
For whatever reason CC could no longer motivate a talented squad, Poching was always going to benefit from an upturn in attitude.
True a full strength Wire should usually beat us but it’s not a given and never has been.
Both teams had issues but I think the fact that Trinity had a converted winger at nine was probably the most grievous.
Wakefield well coached and at home are a match for any team, Poching just found the key.
Warrington will challenge for the title, I wish you luck though I detest Ratchford, sorry.

| I've always had a soft spot for Wakey ,probably because they were the first team i saw win the CC (Hudds 1960?). I like the Wakefield style of play generally & if we don't lose at Belle View they always give the Wire a good game .
Good luck luck to Wakefield & fans .
PS is it still Belle View ?

I agree with you about your squad and the coach change effect and said before the game that at home there's been plenty of away teams leaving Belle Vue without the points and we are quite often one of that group.
We should win on paper with both full squads out but sport isn't like that (thank God) and you were worthy winners on the day. I don't get the Ratchford thing though?

Interesting comment. I didn't see the game so what did Wire supporters, who were at Wakey, think about Austin?

| I’m surprised at the Ratchford dislike. I would think Charnley would be top of most lists since a certain B Westwood retired. And his messing around causes us more problems than the opposition.
I suspect that when Danny Walker becomes established opposition fans will take a dislike to him!

He's always moaning to the ref, he doesn't need to he's a talented player. Also, all teams have a player you love to hate (not like for the over-sensitive), which makes it more fun, Ratchford just happens to be my choice, not personal
