| Hard to argue with that as an away performance. Attack is opportunistic rather than designed, but defended great all game and worked their socks off.

He is a class act. As a far better all round game than Austin.
If he maintains these levels, then I wouldn't see why we shouldn't keep it as it was today, with Ratchford providing a more reliable half back option than Austin and having the attacking threat of Ashton.. Austin has maybe become a luxury that simply doesn't deliver enough to warrant him being there?

| Quality performance all round. Great knackers from Price to finally drop Austin....and Mr Inglis can wait as Jake Mamo is not getting dropped.

| Our scrambling defence was the key today which dealt with their big players & allowed us to cash in on what opportunities came our way. Great to see some enterprising play from Hill & Cooper.

| Mamo has really stood up in the last few weeks and made that right centre spot his. He makes things happen on the field and is a guy whose contribution you always remember, good or (occasionally) bad.

| I must admit when Maloney scored it looked like a few collective heads went down but we rallied well and got stronger as the game went on.
Key was the way we handled Tomkins; Maloney is lazy and Drinkwater too slow so all the spark has been coming through Tomkins and he's been superb in the first few games but we totally nullified him.
Widdop, Mamo, Hill, Clarke, Mulhern and Ashton all superb, and I don't see any reason to change things for HKR, Inglis or not.

| Lets put things into perspective.
Widdop was always a top 3 hb in the NRL and top 4 at fb.
Austin wasn’t and came off the bench in super sub roles.
Any surprises that Widdop is sensational now he has recovered from a terrible injury? Remember he was top of his game before his should set back.

Not really, his form had dropped off in his first season.

Really?
The serial winner that is Wayne Bennett didn't think so. He even persuaded
Austin to "change his nationality", and play him in a totally different position.
Some form drop off

I know you like to post a lot of tongue in cheek stuff, but you’re spot on here. Widdop has been one of the NRLs best players for years and seeing him start to sparkle behind a dominant pack is pleasing but expected. Austin wasn’t some sort of talisman pivot during his time in the NRL, he just happened to be a very good Super League player and exploded onto the scene. I think we are all frustrated because he’s on a huge marquee salary, and he’s shown us what he CAN do when he’s on form. I don’t think he’ll be staying, on that sort of money anyway. By all accounts he’s a super nice guy and does loads in the community, so I’m not going to start vilifying him.
