For me, it’s pure complacency. After the Hull game, I thought this is our time. But once again, familiar story with Wire- our players must be revelling in the victory. Saints hammered us. They could have stuck 50 on us. Our players thought they’d only have to turn up and arrive in Stockton Heath for a few pints (after the win?!) like Salford today, our players weren’t that interested. They weren’t playing for the Wire badge. With that fantastic following we had saints- the players let us down big time. No-one minds losing. It’s the manner of defeat though.
Pricey has been good so far- he seems a good bloke. But I do worry that our players couldn’t be d to put the effort in v Salford. Especially after a crap performance v saints.

| As has been said, it’s still nailed on for a Saints Vs Wire Grand Final and this is just a blip. However, Patton at 7 could end up costing you a bit like Richardson cost us. He’s a poor player who shouldn’t be anywhere near a team trying to win a Grand Final. Having the likes of Lama Tasi, BMM and Livett won’t help either but when you have quality like Clark and Austin you should be fine.

I think you’re overestimating the quality of your squad and underestimating the attitude of your squad, if that makes sense. I suppose we’re always likely to disagree on this but for me our squad is better than yours especially with the front row we have. For the top quality players you’ve got (Clark, Austin, Charnley etc) you’ve got the likes of Lama Tasi, Patton, BMM, Livett and one or two others who are all average players imo. When you have that many average players you’re relying on your better players to play at the best which isn’t going to happen every week. I imagine you’ll go and put about 50 on Hull Kr now.

| A fit BMM is quality. I could be wrong here, but I’m more than happy with Currie, Hughes and Westwood/Clark as our back 3. They just need a rocket boost up their backsides. Currie is still recovering though. If he regains anywhere near his old form-he’s the best back row in the comp. He’s tough, strong and handling skills of a half back.
We just need a rocket boost.
(By the way, saints look the real deal. Coote- really, really good signing)

| Not sure if this is right but what I watched yesterday reminded me a lot of the Latter Tony Smith era at our club. I think for Price to really succeed he needs to get rid of a lot of them players from that time and completely build his own squad. The thing is who would you keep and who would you move on. A lot of the debate is aimed at Patton which I do agree with but there are a lot of players in this current squad who I think are just going through the motions.

| Ever growing list of dead wood who don’t contribute anywhere near enough. As good as J Clark May be at training, he’s not making an impact in a game, he’s producing the same as Tasi (who I agree is garbage) who’s getting hammered for it, but Clark seems to avoid any backlash. BMM is a glamour player, a luxury. We could afford to carry Solomona in 2011 as the rest of the pack were dominant. We can’t now. He should roll his sleeves up and get some work done. Westwood despite being well rested after another ban, didn’t do anywhere bear enough. Goodwin, Livett and Patton have ability somewhere but just aren’t showing it at all. Goodwin in particular yesterday was dire.

| I noticed your defensive line speed versus us last week was really really slow. Was that still a problem v Salford?

In a word Yes. Good spot. It really doesn't take a rocket scientist to spot this and I have wondered for a while now about the tactic of our defensive line walking forward 2 paces and then stopping and waiting for the opposition forward to attain maximum speed and collide with a stationary object. It is asking for trouble and don't give me that nonsense about conserving energy and / or maintaining a defensive line. Just at least continuing to walk forward will close down the space and reduce the effectiveness of the attacking player. Lui and Hastings had a field day and Salford fully deserved their comfortable win.

| Salford were making big yards with possession sets ,just like Saints last week ,where we just had Plan A. 3 or 4 good breaks we made were ruined by poor finishing. Salford were clinical & enterprising & thoroughly deserved to win.

| Is there an unwritten law that dictates that we must kick off to the same player in the same area pretty much every time ? For a small fee I could introduce the word 'variety' to the Warrington coaching manual

Agree with this as well. What is that all about. Get rid and concentrate on the game

When fit there is no doubting his quality but has he ever been fit during his time at Warrington? He’s far too heavy, hit him round the knees and chances are he’ll end up limping off. He’s only bothered about what happens in the opposition 20 as well. He needs to lose weight and get back to the size he was at Salford. If he can’t I’d be getting rid as I imagine he’ll be on decent money that you could spend more effectively. Not watched Clark as much as you obviously but when I’ve seen him he seems a bit like Paulo for us. Not the best, not the worst but a questionable signing.

You’ve totally changed BMM as a player from his time at Salford. When he was with us he was an 80 minute wide-running second rower. He’s now a 10-15 minute crash and bash prop forward. He reminds me of Feka Paleaaesina now.
With the reduced interchanges these days, a player like that is a luxury you can’t afford.
