| Yes, fuss and faux outrage from Hull KR. James Goulding and Andrew Heffernan have had to retire due to concussion. No bleating or moaning over those incidents i re call. Do excuse is if we point out one of your players made reckless contact with someone's head leaving them hospitalised with a possible skull fracture. Knee \elbow it doesn't matter at this point he clearly goes towards Tomkin 's head. Rashford comes in second over his legs which was more of a late flop so why did the ref send Austin to the sin bin. McGuire instantly is upset.
Austin is looking at a lengthy ban. Which is no use to Rovers.

What are you saying here ? What is ' a play on the NN/W side'. Do you mean there is footage of the game from the NW, if so, can you show the clip ?
Then the quotation that you made; [iAustin flopped on him, leading with his elbow into the nape of the head to neck area'.[/i'" ] Who made this, was it overheard from the linesman ?

Nobody wants to see a player injured and out of the game for any length of time, but it happens. I didn't see any contact to the head from where I was stood, and the footage is inconclusive.
Therefore, I'm not saying there was or wasn't, I honestly don't know. It will be dealt with on Tuesday, when there's hopefully footage from the North Stand side, together with the officials report to determine what case there is to answer. Until then (or for years into the future), we can all carry on arguing the toss from a different view point.

| I hope the RFL look at this tackle and decide if there is contact with the head too.

The alarming thing from watching the reply is that Patton completely bottles it from either catching the pass or at minimum getting in the way of Tomkins. He steps to the side, I assume in self preservation. It’s poor.'"
I saw that but we cannot criticise young Declan at the moment.

Adrian Morley was out for 12 weeks when Eamon O’Carroll ‘recklessly’ flew out of the line made contact with the head and fractured his cheekbone. EOC stayed on the field, didn’t get a penalty and he didn’t get a ban (and rightly so). Someone getting injured doesn’t mean someone should get a ban. It’s a collision sport, nature of the beast. Joel knows the rules of engagement, and if I remember correctly did a decent job on Yeaman a few years back, he’s no shrinking violet.
If we go down the route of ‘overly aggressive’ gets a penalty, we should just call it quits.
Finally, McGuire has been instantly upset since 2003, I wouldn’t rely on his judgment. Usually appeased with a shrill blow on a whistle. If Austin does get a ban then maybe KR don’t benefit directly, but you did have 10 minutes to make it pay, which you did make use of, scoring while we were down a man.

It looks very bad if you are looking at it impartially. Tomkins is already down and already tackled, no need at all for Austin's involvement. He clearly attacks the head and leaves him with very severe injuries.
I don't think anyone can argue with a 3-4 week ban for that. Nothing too dramatic, but not something we need in the game.

| I was sat in the North and saw the incident. Ratchford goes nowhere near with his knees, tackle was incomplete and Austin was legally allowed to tackle him. However, Austin then led with his right elbow tucked in and landed it on his head/back of neck area. I immediately thought if the ref has seen that he's gone and the only thing that saved him was the ref and linesman were running back up the field trying to catch up. If the RFL have the view that I had from the North then Austin is banned. I dont believe it was intentional or reckless but still will be a ban.

| Tomkins wasn't tackled, he was clearly going to carry on running after the initial tackle, and Austin completed the tackle

| Agree with Lefty's earlier assessment of the game. Don't know who Moe is standing with but I was at the game and was not impressed with Tasi at all. Very underwhelming for somebody presumably wanting to make an impression to claim a starting shirt.
The Austin incident from where I was sitting in the north stand just looked like a heavy flop whilst completing a tackle.. Obviously don't wish injury on anybody but Tomkins is a grub and has always been there or thereabouts whenever there is any trouble. With Austin investigated for 2 incidents against Leeds ( no ideas what the second one was) he will inevitably get a ban. We don't need our star signing sat in the stand so he needs to shape up.

Mobile phone auto correct 'mate ' not 'play'
Apologies.
Led with the elbow into the nape of the head with a flop.
